Ya again its that awkward "hey no LOW Super Heavies....expect IK cause they are special" but it worked last year and I'm sure it will work this year.

I still struggle a bit with the Knight thing, but it kind of feels like our hands are tied. They have a legitimate army book that is only them, and it feels like poor taste to ban it. At the same time, it does feel a bit unfair to say "you can't use your fancy toy you're excited about, but this person can because Knights."
At the same time as that, I 100% agree with Shannon that starting to run in to double Wraithknights/double Storm Surges is just going to make what should be a great intro event pretty miserable at times.
The one point I want to bring up regarding teams with multiple Knights is whether we should consider doing anything about partner selection when Double Knights are a possibility. It's rough to run in to it on the last round of the day and realize you're going to be facing double knights with no control over your pairings because of previous rounds. Obviously it's easy to say "then make sure all your lists can match up in a way that handles that", and that'd be reasonable at a GT somewhere, but when we've consistently had teams featuring new players with limited model selection/people who are joining the event last minute, it's hard to really keep that level of control over things.
I mean, that said, I can think of quite a few probably teams that will EASILY be able to feature a Knight in each list, which kind of makes it a moot point, but I feel like it's a question worth addressing.
If I'm honest, my preference would be to run something like this as a "no Superheavies" event, but I also understand that I'm someone who isn't bringing one either way and that we already ban them at at least one event a year.

I'm perfectly 100% willing to say no superheavies and GMC's whatsoever.
doesn't bother me a bit if there's one tourney a year where someone can't bring their knight because there's a crapton of tournies where they CAN bring their knights/wraithknights/stormsurges etc.

I am comfortable with no GMC/SH for this one if the goal is to be a more entry-level/new player type tournament

I just found out I have to leave the country for a work trip, and I don't fly back until the 17th. Is it possible for me to do all of my games on the 18th?

Ya again its that awkward "hey no LOW Super Heavies....expect IK cause they are special" but it worked last year and I'm sure it will work this year. They are special though; there's no other army in the game comprised entirely of superheavies. It's a decision that I know personally how much flak Shannon takes no matter which way he decides. Personally, I think there's worse match-ups than a pair of knights but thats my own opinion.

I just found out I have to leave the country for a work trip, and I don't fly back until the 17th. Is it possible for me to do all of my games on the 18th? sorry no... each of these games is a tag team, so your team would be short a player for each of their games day one. If you have a really, really understanding team they may be able to play your list between them day one (ie: their own list plus yours as a 2k list total) - but that's super difficult to do, and you'd have to have the list the same day two so no switching things up. I'm totally amenable to some kind of compromise, however you'd have to get a team on board with the idea first.

So is there only one imperial knight per team or per player ?? As I find that odd that they're allowed but wraith Knights are not especially if it's one imperial knight per player

I really wouldn't mind one Low per team whether that be an imperial knight or wraith knight as that way you can never see double LOW with the exception of characters

Or no super heavies at all seems like a great compromise

I'm leaning towards no superheavy / GMC's
if that would impact your attendance/happiness with this event, please say so!

I'm leaning towards no superheavy / GMC's if that would impact your attendance/happiness with this event, please say so! So this is the same song and dance we did last year. I will point out that in the 2 years of this tournament that IK have been a thing that a team bringing a super heavy has not made the top 3 teams. When your army is 1000 pts spending 375 on a single model is a big risk AND 2x 1000 pts is way less scary than 1x 2000 pts when it comes to bringing knights. 2 knights at 2x 1000 pts is a HUGE point sink in a unit that can only every hold 1 objective AND gives up extra kill points for its hull. I think Matt made a fair point they are special and have their own codex for a reason and if you buy out of the codex there isn't an issue. @ tylermullins. You can't fairly draw a comparison between an IK and a WK. the WK is better in every aspect of the game that matter including points. It on par with comparing a Necron Wraith and a Terminator for 40 pts its not even close... I vote for IK if you want them, with the same 1 per player restriction as last year. I'd even go one more step and say it has to be out of the codex so no FW knights can be used.

I'm leaning towards no superheavy / GMC's if that would impact your attendance/happiness with this event, please say so! Maybe I'm misunderstanding this. For the last 3 years we have an No Superheavy/GMC's; with the exception of the Imperial Knight. This year are we looking at banning out the Imperial knight as well? or when you say leaning towards no GMC's/SH is the knight not included and we are keeping our Status Quo.
