It's been a while since I've gone to a tournament - is it necessary to submit our lists in advance or get them vetted in any way or do we just show up on the day with what we're bringing?

With this tourney in particular, you show up day of with a 1k valid list for you and all your team members. share lists between your team for fact checking of course. On the day of when you start playing, it's your responsibility to have a legal list. However we'll publicly punish your team captain if there's an error. It's alot of fun! (well not for the team captain)

Just letting everyone know - given Traitor's Hate is being released on Saturday, it will be legal to use for the tournament. Just make sure you show your opponents the rules if you're using them, as they won't be super familiar.
If you're bringing a renegade version of the imperial knight, this will be the most up to date legal rules so whatever's in that book is what you'll need to use. (not sure if they'll be different)

I've sent out a message to team captains about how to handle civil wars if we're at 7 teams.
Once we reach a consensus I'll post the decision.
However if we get one more team registered in this final week - well then we're golden!

Remember teams... be there for 9 AM as the dice roll at 9:30
we won't have a ton of tables to set up thankfully (one of the advantages of four people per table!)
but given the nature of this event, there's a bit more time with match ups etc.
Team Captains - your job to ensure your team is there, registered and ready to play all with legal lists!!!!

team captain is responsible for checking all the lists for accuracy. You don't have to send in your lists ahead of time.
As I am playing in this tournament it would be an unfair advantage to get to see everyone's list.
gotta keep things fair!

I have consulted with the team captains and in the event that we have 7 or 9 teams attend (hey 9 could happen...lol) here's how we would handle civil wars (in the event of 5 teams it just works like last year, everyone gets one) (obviously if we get 8 teams there is no civil war)
Because at 7 teams there will be one team who doesn't get a civil war over six games, and a civil war can give you a maximum of 18 points (one side has win (10) + first blood (1) + linebreaker (1)+ warlord (1) for a total of 13 - the other gets loss (3)+linebreaker (1) + warlord (1) for a total of 5 - it actually works out 1 point more than both drawing!!!)
so we need to make things fair if one team has the opportunity to have six games with a max of 26 points per round, or if a team isn't able to get the "free" 18 points of a civil war... etc. We don't want people getting salty.. this is all in good fun but we need things to be an equal playing field.
So we agreed that the team who doesn't get a civil war will have one score change. This means that they have to change one of their games' points to 18. So if you are kicking ass and taking names and have 26 every game. Well so sad, one of those has to change to 18. If you got harshed game six but were otherwise doing well, you can make that your 18 point round.
This way everyone gets one game where they get 18 points. Everything is totally fair. Now if you CHOOSE to not maximize your points during your civil war (don't laugh, it has happened) that is your CHOICE... however at the outset we're going to make things fair across the board.

no one... one side won in your civil war didn't they? good news is - all the prizes are draws... and they're going to be pretty awesome... lots of players are going to be walking away with some cool stuff regardless of their win/loss ratio
