Q: The C’tan Shard of the Nightbringer’s Gaze of Death special rule occurs in the Shooting phase, but isn’t a shooting attack. Can it be used in close combat? Can it be used in Overwatch? A: Gaze of Death is not a shooting attack, so cannot be used to fire Overwatch. It can, however, be used even if the C’tan Shard of the Nightbringer is locked in combat, either against the unit he is locked in combat with or against another enemy unit within range and line of sight.
Q: Can Eldar Warp Spiders use their Flickerjump special rule to avoid the C’tan Shard of the Nightbringer’s Gaze of Death? A: No.

A: The effects always last until the start of your next Movement phase, even if units proceed to move out of range or the Formation’s Canoptek Spyder is subsequently destroyed.
Q: Can units from a Canoptek Harvest that are currently benefitting from Reanimation Protocols as a result of their Formation’s Adaptive Subroutines also benefit from Orikan the Diviner’s Master Chronomancer special rule? Q: Can a model be given a relic from the Mephrit Dynasty and an Artefact of the Aeons? A: No. A model may only be equipped with a single relic (or equivalent) of any kind.

Interesting stuff. They sort of clarified how the retribution phalanx is supposed to work, and I feel that some things got buffed. Adaptive subroutines work the turn you give it to the wraiths and scarabs even if you're outside 12 inches (yay, like that needed a buff), deathmarks wounding GMCs on twos from hunters from hyperspace, and I feel the retribution phalanx is better now. Poor monolith and mephrit dynasty tho. No buffs for them

the terrain thing is weird... they take the initiative penalty but in the next question they ignore terrain in all phases... so yeah gaze of death got better as it can still be used in close combat. so canoptek formation got buffed... ummm okay... and deathmarks... nice... don't own any, but nice buff for those who do. I mean there's no AP on the shooting so a GMC is still going to get all their saves and FNP so they're not actually scary vs. any GMC other than forcing them to make some saves. so not exactly the stormsurge/wraithknight hunters, lol nice work on making the monolith actually worse GW... I mean... that's impressive. ughhhh Conclave of the burning one is only a trancendent C'tan now... so much for all that painting and converting I did...

the retribution phalanx is also now able to "resurrect" warriors or scarabs outside of a 3 inch range. The only requirement is that the first model placed is within 3 inches of the overlord.
i think it's weird that an independent character that is attached to a unit can't be deployed in deep strike reserve. What if you attach that character to a unit with the deep strike special rule already? The veil gives the deep strike special rule to the independent character so I think in those situations, that character should be able to be deployed in deep strike reserve.
i think deathmarks with a destroyer lord could be powerful against gmc's, since their weapons are sniper and rend on 6's. though in my experience, my deathmarks never hit their mark...

because the specific wording on the veil doesn't put you in deep strike reserve, it removes you from the table and deep strikes you back onto the table. So that totally makes sense.
The retribution phalanx got a lot better for certain.
I'm still unsure about sending a unit of deathmarks vs. a GMC. They don't have the AP or rate of fire needed to do the work. A d-lord could possibly help matters of course, resulting in more hits and guarenteed wounds.

it's probably better to hide the guy with the veil of darkness on the table anyways so you're more likely to get a turn 2 charge with a tough until like lychguard.
by themselves, a unit of deathmarks won't be able to single-handedly take out a GMC unless you get really lucky. but in combination with a destroyer cult, they could do some serious damage.
also, i think that FAQ regarding helfrost is different from a previous FAQ, where it depended on whose turn it was. ie. if it was on the space wolves player's turn, then necrons wouldn't benefit from reanimation protocol.
it's a real shame that the nightbringer can't be part of the conclave, with gaze of death being buffed!

you can't charge after using the veil of darkness though... so plan accordingly yeah it's a shame alright, I converted crypteks and built and painted a night bringer for the conclave... all for naught
