So our next 40K tourney will be Secret Santa December 10th
This will be a laid back, fun, great for newcomers tourney!
It will be 1500 points
You may bring a Single Combined Arms Detachment ONLY - no formations. The only exception is if you have no ability to make a combined arms detachment in your codex (ie: harlequins) then you can use your base detachment in your codex, however no alternative formations (ie: harlequins could bring a masque, however NOT a heroes path)
NO Gargantuan Monstrous Creatures and No super heavies. There is no exception for imperial knights for this tourney - they cannot be included at all.
There will be NO painting requirement.
Comp scoring matrix will not be used for this tourney, however the T.O. reserves the right to send your list packing if it is clearly not within the bounds of a fun friendly environment. If you are unsure whether or not your list is too rough for this tournament or not, feel free to send me a PM with your list and I'll let you know immediately.
The main goal here is a fun tourney where everyone can have fun!
Entry fee is $15 (for our regular prize pool) - plus you need to bring a wrapped gift which would have the approximate value of $10. You can go gaming related (brush, paint, white dwarf, dice etc.) or non-gaming related. Whatever you'd like. Everyone gets a prize from Santa's table!

Yay! I had a great time at the last secret Santa. It's also the only tournament I've ever won a prize at, so I have fond memories of that. Alyssa, I'm running out of that green stuff, so I could use another stick.
I like the cad only format for this one. Makes it waaaayyy easier for newer players.

I missed it last year, I hope I can make it this year! What are the missions, and do you roll for warlord trait or pick one?

there will be three missions.. which are custom to the day... and you'll roll a warlord trait, not pick one.

If no one brings Logan Grimnar on his super floating Santa sleigh we've all failed as people.

Jingle orks, jingle orks, jingle all da way!! Love the format, very old school. Like me, my resemblance to Santa not withstanding. And I agree, far easier on the rookies. Unfortunate for our power gamers, but great for the community in general. Planning to do everything I can to attend. Merry Orksmas everyone!!

.... believe it or not, even our competitive players really like secret santa! and it's Mike at Nexus' favourite tourney of the year!!!
Hoping to have 30+ players at this one (just like last year)... I'll update when the online signups are ready!

My Orks are in too! Looking forward to this tournament. Is there anything Orky that people would suggest I avoid using to keep things fun?

Using Orks in general is fun! Unless you're taking a big Bike-star I don't think there's much mean they can do to be honest.

Hope everyone has lots of fun.
