1500 points each - Mission is Big Guns Never Tire, Vanguard deployment. There are three objectives spread pretty evenly along the table - one in a short ruin on the left end of the table, one on the highest floor of a tall ruin in the middle of the table, and one in the open on the right side of the table.
My army consisted of 2x Battle Demi Companies, 10th Co Support, and my hero - Interrogator Chaplain Cassiel.
I win the roll off, and I choose to deploy first and go first. Harlequins fail to seize... not fast enough today!
Both armies deploy fairly conservatively, using the trench systems and buildings for cover. My Scouts infiltrate into the center ruin to immediately claim the objective.

TURN 1 - Angels of Absolution
A dust storm swells, obscuring all combatants!
Movement Drop pods leave black trails of smoke across the sky as they plummet towards the troupe of Harlequins taking cover in the western trench system. Thanks to minimal atmospheric interference and the canny machine spirit of their navigation systems, both pods land on target, deploying ancient dreadnoughts of the 4th Company directly into the fray. One drop pod lands immediately adjacent to Objective 1, securing it and Breaking the Harlequin Lines.
The 10th Company detachment uses their grappling hooks to climb to the top of the ruin overlooking the drop site of their venerated dreadnought brothers, and secure Objective 2.
The remainder of the 4th Company remains in defensive positions, preparing their long-range weapons and waiting for the Harlequin counterattack.
Both dreadnoughts target the elite Skyweaver Squad with their Assault Cannons and Heavy Flamers, inflicting additional hits against the passengers of a nearby Starweaver. Both targets use their Mirage Launchers, but it is not enough to save the Skyweaver Squad which is destroyed, granting the Angels of Absolution first blood. The Scout squad fires from its elevated position, but fails to do any damage. The tactical squads, from their defensive positions in the trenches and buildings, fire from long range but the Harlequin jetbikes are quick to jink out of the way of the incoming krak missiles.
The Angels of Absolution remain steadfast in grim anticipation of the Harlequin advance...
The remaining Harlequin jetbikes and Skyweavers use their advanced engines to manoeuvre around the drop pods and dreadnoughts in to a position of advantage. The Harlequin troupe dances from trench to trench with supernatural ease, preparing to attack the upstart machines in their midst.
The jetbikes, still dazes from their defensive manoeuvres, are unable to fire their haywire cannons. The Starweavers concentrate their fire on the two dreadnoughts. Shuriken cannons inflict heave damage on their vulnerable rear armour, turning their mighty war sarcophagi into smouldering wrecks. Their remains will be reclaimed by the techmarines! The remainder of the Harlequins attempt to destroy the drop pods blocking the objective in the ruin, but are unable to destroy them.
The Harlequin Troup assaults the drop pod closest to Objective 1 - but is unable to destroy it! Mighty Imperium technology prevails!
The dust storm persists, obscuring the battlefield!
Following the lead of their ancient brethren, the Assault Squads of the 4th Company crash into the Harlequin trenches. With the Assault Squads are the Chaplain and Company Master. Tactical Squad Razorbacks move out of cover from behind the large eastern structure, in order to get eyes on the Harlequin war machines.
Both assault squads unleash torrents of prometheum from their flamers, inflicting many casualties on the Harlequin troupe using the trench network for cover. A tactical squad takes aim from the hatch of its Rhino and fires a krak missile at the jetbikes, killing one bike outright. Heavy Bolters from the Razorbacks, plasma cannons from the Devastator Squad, and more krak missiles are fired at the Harlequins but accomplish little... A jetbike is wounded and the remaining Starweavers use their Mirage Launchers. Their agility and the interference of the sand storm saves them!
The Assault Squads, having disembarked from their drop pods, ready their weapons for overwatch fire...
The Jetbikes move forward, preparing to engage the Angels' vehicles and taking cover behind buildings. The Jetbikes move into position, their eyes on the centre objective. Shooting
The Troupe in the trenches holds their fire and prepare to launch a daring attack on the newly- landed assault squads. Starweavers fire the shuriken cannons, destroying a Razorback and forcing its passengers to disembark. The destruction of their vehicle disorients the squad, reducing their accuracy to snap firing. Assault
The Harlequin troupe launches a disorderly charge against the two assault squads. The Troupe Master weathers a righteous torrent of flamer and bolt pistol fire, arriving in melee without a scratch. The Chaplain accepts a challenge from the Troup Master, and each combatant in the challenge inflicts a wound upon the other. The Harlequins inflict heavy losses on the assault squads, but the Chaplain and Company Master stand and fight!
The jetbikes charge the Scouts at the top of the ruin, slaughtering them to the last man and taking the objective. Their sacrifice will be honoured!

no worries.... the system won't let me change the minimum size to actually small enough... I think it's to try to get me to buy more storage space.... little do they know that GW are the only ones that can blackmail me for all my money!!!!

Razorbacks and Rhinos take up firing positions on either side of the large compound building... No other movement!
Razorbacks, Tacical Squads and Devastator squads combine their fire onto the jetbikes exposed at the top of the ruin, wiping them out and leaving the objective unclaimed! The crafty Harlequins use the buildings to block line of sight, but a drop pod manages to wreck a Starweaver with only its storm bolter. Praise the machine spirit!
The Chaplain and Company Master are able to inflict a couple of wounds against the Harlequin troupe, who kill all but them and one remaining Assault Marine. The Harlequins Hit & Run back to the trenches, as the Chaplain, Company Master and Assault Marine all consolidate 6" towards the objective in the ruin.
The Shadowseer detaches from the Troupe in the trenches, setting his eyes on the nearby drop pod. Starweavers manoeuvre into position and disembark their passengers.
The Starweaver and its passengers at Objective 1 are able to kill the Chaplain, Company master and the Assault marine with their Shuriken weapons. A rhino on the southen flank is wrecked and it's passengers disembark, stunned again by the destruction of their vehicle!
The Troupe Master, his Troupe, and the Shadowseer assault the Drop Pods in their midst. Xenos cowards would rather fight simple machines than challenge the resolve of mankind! The Shadowseer succeeds in destroying one Drop Pod, and consolidates onto Objective 1, claiming it. The Troupe Master has a difficult time inflicting damage on the other Drop Pod...
The Angels of Absolution manoeuvre into an envelopment! Two Tactical Squads delay the Harlequins on the southern flank, while the other another rushes forward out of the trench system to dismount from their Rhino to claim Objective 3. Interrogator-Chaplain Cassiel and his dismounted Devastator Squad make a mad sprint, following behind the Rhino for cover. The other Devastator Squad, mounted in their Rhino, move flat-out to get across the trenches and behind the ruin on the northern flank.
The dismounted Tactical squad manages to snap-fire a krak missile at a Starweaver, destroying one of its weapons and finishing it off with bolter fire. The Razorback and Rhino on the southern flank attempt to thin out the approaching Harlequins, but with little effect. The remaining marines are too shaken from their rapid movement to effectively engage the enemy!
The two Starweavers on the southern flank move over the building, with one landing on top of it and the other landing in front of the Razorback.
The Starweavers shoot at the transports on the southern flank. One succeeds in damaging the Razorback, while the other is too disoriented from Jinking to effectively engage it.
The Harlequins dismount from their Starweaver and charge a Tactical Squad, destroying them completely and consolidating into nearby bushes. The Troupe Master and his retinue continue their onslaught against the drop pods, slowly whittling them down one hull point at a time.
Turn 5 - Angels of Absolution
Movement The Razorback at the centre of the battlefield moves towards the ruin containing Objective 2 and disembarks its passengers. They attempt to run up to the top level to claim the objective, but are 1" short of making it! The remainder of the Company hold their ground, preparing their heavy weapons.
The Devastator squad tries to engage the Starweaver on the building with their plasma cannons, but both overheat! Curse you, desert sun!! Cassiel's Devastator Squad is much more successful, destroying a dismounted Harlequin troupe with Heavy Bolters. The Sergeant's Signum converts a miss into a hit!
The remaining Harlequins race forward in an attempt to destroy the southern flank, while the Troupe Master and Shadowseer remain in the trench network and on Objective 1.
The Shadowseer attempts to destroy the last Drop Pod in his deployment zone with a Haywire grenade, which fails to do any damage! The Starweavers drestroy the devastator squad's rhino, gaining a victory point.
The troupe on the southern flank charges and loses some members to the Angels of Absolution's disciplined bolter fire, leaving them outnumbered in the assault. The Troupe Master in the trenches charges another drop pod for the easy kill.
At the end of turn five, we roll for game length and the game ends.
Angels of Absolution - First Blood, Objective 3, Linebreaker (drop pod), 1 VP for destroyed Heavy Support unit = 6 VP
Harlequins - Objective 1, Linebreaker (Starweaver), 1 VP for destroyed Heavy Support unit = 5 VP
Interrogator Chaplain Cassiel apprehends and interrogates a Harlequin, learning from their swift and agile ways and gaining 40 XP! He is now level 4, gaining Crusader (15 pts), Hit and Run (15 Pts), +1 A (Level 4) with 10 XP left over.
