I don’t see why you couldn’t publicly post comp scores. We’ll find out day of anyways. It’s like when a teacher wouldn’t post grades publicly; everyone finds out anyhow, lol.

It’s like when a teacher wouldn’t post grades publicly; everyone finds out anyhow, lol. all the score results get posted at the end. Much like how I don't post people's lists or anything beforehand... but pictures from the events (plus your opponents giving you a copy of their list!) clearly show what's in people's lists. If you see their list, you can easily figure out their comp score as the scoring matrix is posted publicly here.
all the scores (especially the soft ones - painting/comp/sports) are up to people to share if they want to or not share if they don't.
we have an extremely big range in comp scores, pretty much the entire range possible all the way up to 20!

This is just a middle ground. If people are interested in Comp you could just put up all the Comp scores with no name or faction next to them. It lets people see where they fall in the list ( they should know roughly where they are) BUT doesn't personally single out any person or faction.
ex The Comps are : 4,18,20,10 11, 13 ,15, 10 ,9 etc...
Either way at the end as pointed out the scores will be posted for overall, which is worth all the marbles any way.

the comp scores are as follows - with NO further comment on what factions, players etc. - this is only to help you see where your list falls:
Comp Score Number of lists 20 1 19 1 18 3 17 2 16 3 15 3 14 3 13 2 12 3 11 3 10 1 9 1 8 0 7 3 6 2 5 0 4 0 3 1 2 0 1 0 0 0

I'm really intrigued at how you get yourself to 3. Terrified of playing it, but intrigued.

most lists at the tourney (78% in fact) got 10+ comp. Comp will match you up similarly round one, but after that it's all you... you win you're going to face tougher opponents/lists... you lose, and you'll face someone else who suffered a loss. Hopefully this system creates a more balanced playing field for at least the first round... and after that, given you're facing someone who has a similar record as you, it's also fair as well.

Will comp be used for 2nd-6th match pairing if there is a tie in score or is it be fully random after true 1? ex 4 players have 13 points after round 1, their comp scores are 6, 11, 15, 18. Will it be random who faces who in round two or will 6-11 play and 15-18 play?

I feel like median comp of 13.5 is very solid. With a mean of 12.9 for comp.

the computer program we use allows round one pairings and then it will be based on battle points after that. (still ensuring no one plays someone they've played previously). we're somewhat limited in that we have to stick with the limitations of the computer program... especially with a tourney this big that also requires me to figure out between rounds how each person can never play the same table twice (program sadly will not do that for me).

Admittedly I prefer this. It means there isn't an accidently A pool, B pool due to comp. Using it for turn 1 is great but random there after gives a more accurate tournament.

you have to earn your wins... just first round it's as fair a contest as possible
