so this looks like an amazing game, i just have a few questions:
Is there a player base in kingston? (Even if there's only a few of you players out there id still get into Infinity, i just really dig the concept/look of this game)
If i get one of the two starter sets, and decide to stick to lets say, the Nomads, can i just buy what ever other models from that faction to add to the squad as i see fit? Or are there strict "formations" you have to follow?
Do they still make the minis out of metal? (I love feel and weight of metal minis)
I see on the Infinity web site there are two "Rule books" which one do i need? Human Sphere or N3?
I really want to get into a skirmish style game were i dont need to buy a huge army, but a game were i can make a personalized squad sounds amazing, Warmachine seemed cool, so did hoards and Mercs... but Infinity has seriously caught my attention.
Thanks for your time everyone!

I believe that there are a few players around and Matt McAdoo was trying to get an infinity night going at nexus... don't play it myself but I know there are a few out there

I've definitely seen a group playing down at Nexus before, at least 5 or 6 players. I've thought about getting involved before, to the point of buying half of an army, but I had to accept that I don't even really have time for the games I already own armies for.

Okay, there a few of us! We don't get enough people meet every Thursday but we do meet! I've been busy with a newborn but have gotten down there this year. We have a Facebook group! www.facebook.com/groups/1181472908551462/?ref=bookmarksThere aren't formations. You can add whatever models you want up to their AVA (availability). You can use the army app to make armies and test things out (https://army.infinitythegame.com/). The army app has a lil' checkmark to let you know if your army is legal or not and if it is not legal it will let you know what rule you're breaking. It's a lil' intimidating at first (especially the vanilla armies which have a huge selection of units) but it only has as much info as you need. You can click on things like weapons and skills and it will take you to the Wiki which will explain the rules (http://wiki.infinitythegame.com/en/Main_Page). All the rules are provided free by the company (http://infinitythegame.com/archive.php). The two .pdfs you want are Rulebook and Human Sphere N3 rules. N3 Rulebook is the corebook and Human Sphere N3 is an update/expansion. The two rulebooks are the full set of rules. Also the wiki should be updated with just about everything. The physical books themselves are rules + lore. Lore is the one thing the company doesn't give away for free. If you're interested in that, that's the reason to buy books (well, that and the bonus exclusive mini). Everything is metal. That's just how we roll. Nexus has some Infinity stocked but there's so many different models that I usually have to ask Michael to order something in for me when I want to buy something. Things I like about Infinity -crits always give you the chance to deal damage -you act on opponent's turn -skirmishing! -sweet anime inspired models -there isn't a best army list Usually the best way to start is with smaller army points like 100-150 point matches as a demo Edit: If you have anymore questions, be happy to answer them!

Thank you so much... tbh I feel cheated by GW.... I got into Age of Sigmar.... only to find out two 1000 point army's can be horribly miss balanced. Lmao like 180 for 5 Blightkings..... or 180 for 20...... how the fuck is that fair? It's not..... Infinity seems like such a better game tbh..... just a heads up its 180 for 5, to a max of 20, where each 5 knights cost 180 pts. So 20 blightkings are 720 pts in the new point system. now the upgrades like musian and champion are free per unit for no "point cost" but since each unit gets one it balances out. If you have the generals hand book its on pg 106; picking you army, paragraph 2-3.

And the guy I played had waaaaaay more guys then me. So maybe it was balanced, I don't know... Lol :')

Lol :') Its cool. im not sure what your schedule is like but thursday nights are there for AoS and infinity usually 6-9ish. If you can make it id post here then go and even just ask some people who are playing whats what. I know im no expert at AoS, ive played all of 5 games but there were a ton of people there who helped me sort it out. but more of this can be discussed in the AoS area as this is for Infinity. and i recommend infinity with you want small model count, tactical table top. Ive had some very very fun games in the N3 rules.

So maybe it was balanced, I don't know... Lol :') AoS is balanced. Not to mention, 1 game is an incredibly small sample size to determine balance. No game is perfect, but that's not stopping GW from trying with this one. But yeah, as some have said, if you can make it down on a Thursday night, any of us AoS regulars would be happy to help out. They helped me a few months ago, and now I'm a full blown addict, looking into treatment programs. Great group of people, except that iain guy.....
