Are we playing with those rules GW stated will be coming out in the Chapter Approved book in December but released some early? The rules are 'boots on the ground", "objective secured" and first turn is decided with a roll off, it is not automatic anymore. Also, the rule to get your troops to be objective secured is that if your army must be battle forged all troops in <faction> detachments. The ITC clarified what that meant with the following: "On August 9, 2017, the Warhammer Community site introduced the Objective Secured rule. Since Chapter Approved is still forthcoming, Games Workshop clarified for us which Factions gain Objective Secured for the ITC community. If your army is Battle-forged, all Troops units in <Faction> Detachments gain the Objective Secured rule, so long as every unit in a detachment has the same faction keyword from the following list: Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, Deathwatch, Astra Militarum, Adeptus Mechanicus, Adeptus Ministorum, Asuryani, Drukhari, Harlequins, Chaos Daemons, Renegades & Heretics, Thousand Sons, Death Guard, Necrons, T’au Empire, Orks, <Hive Fleet>, and Genestealer Cults. " Is this how you will rule it? Check a couple posts above Thanks for pointing that out. I can't believe I missed it.

No worries, hopefully those are the rulings you were hoping for!
I for one think all three are positive changes.

yeah we've been pretty much playing that way on casual Saturday gaming already... it'll be in the official rules soon enough so might as well just adopt it (like all the other tournies are doing)
One thing people should be aware of though if you're not familiar with our local tournies is that we do not give out ITC points... (chasing ITC points brings out some hardcore lists that don't tend to fit well with our local friendlier scene)

Our team isn't interested in ITC points. This is one of the reasons why our team is attending your tournament. I just quoted ITC's clarification about troops being objective secured because it made sense to me.

I just quoted ITC's clarification about troops being objective secured because it made sense to me. well that's good to hear! I know we have a few out of town teams and a LOT of new players locally since 8th dropped. ITC gets asked about often and figured I'd take the opportunity to clear that up at the same time
The chapter approved stuff makes a lot of sense, so we're totally on board with that!

Just a friendly reminder to all team captains as the tourney approaches:
- the first game STARTS at 9:30 -> you need to have your team there and ready to play BEFORE this time! (doors will open at 9 AM.
- it's your responsibility to make sure all your team members are registered and paid up before game one
- you need to make sure as soon as you arrive you sign in with Ali at the front desk at Nexus so we know you're there!
- you need to ensure everyone on your team has a legal list (It would be an unfair advantage to me to see the lists beforehand for this tourney so I rely on team captains to ensure they're accurate!)

Sacrificing all of you to the dark gods for the glory of the League of Ultimate Evil. Come on man, I know you want your request to the Adeptus Administratum to get processed in good order but there are limits to how far one should go. .....Oh wait, you were talking about the Ruinious Powers.

Start training them early. I started Stefan when he was 8 with modified rules and he was in his first tournament when he was 12. FYI, the previous proves that time really does fly when it comes to your kids so enjoy them at every opportunity.

Question on miniature rules for the tournament. I have a trade with rae125 where he said 'I could bring it to the team tournament' but I don't know if I'm going to have the minis in hand by 9:30 on Saturday.
Since I have other miniatures of equivalent dimensions and base size, would it be permissible to use them as substitutes until the trade with rae125 is done?
