God damn, facebook is a toxic spot... I'm just happy everyone is getting their codex in a fairly timely manner, but if you read what people are screaming about online, you'd think GW killed their mom!
Some of my favorite outakes from the T'au community page. -"Pfft, we waited this long and now we get a sh*tty codex" What? How do you know its going to suck? There are ZERO leaks out for it! The only thing GW said was "subtle tweaks" -"Wasn't soon enough" Are you kidding? We've had a playable index for the whole edition, and we're getting a full codex within 9 months. Amazing! -"They didn't even change the cover art" I actually responded to this one. "They changed more about ours than any other codex so far... Most other armies are exactly the same. Now our commander is white instead of ocher."

There's a reason I don't go there anymore. Watching FB groups complain about everything was sapping my interest in 40k like nothing else.
Pumped to see a string of Xenos Codexes on the way.
What does that leave unfinished now out of major factions? Orks and Wolves? And then things like Deathwatch and Imperial Knights and *whispers* sisters...

Yup, I'm getting a little heated over the amount of entitlement the player base has. It's a game, for god's sake. Cool your jets lol. Maybe I'll take a quick facebook break and actually do some work. I hope that some of the T'au doomsayers sell their armies for mega cheap before even seeing the codex (not that I need more T'au lol)

Hopefully that was quiet enough. Everyone knows now that everytime someone says or posts that word they are pushed back another year 😋

Facebook break has done me a world of good, honestly. Plus you can keep Messenger active even without opening the actual page. I've got more done both in work and hobby by far since closing it.

That new knight looks pretty badass! Yes, yes it is. I will have it. I love reversed knee look (or is that the ankle, and the knight is on tippy-toes?)

It has the double knee that the FW Knights have instead of the single knee that current GW knights have. Makes it look more agile in my opinion. I'm hoping since they're smaller that they'll be much less points, allowing for some cool diversity and larger numbers in Knight Armies.

I wish they'd given a bit more size context, but sort of extrapolating where the pilot would fit I'm picturing like a bulked up Ironstrider, which could nicely fit in the 170 point MC kind of range, really give a Knight force some options.

It is nice that crypteks are coming over to the plastic side. Though I have to question the whole 'floating and attached via an umbilical to a stripped down Canoptek Spyder' thing.
Though maybe the Spyder means they'll have an option of taking a gloom prism (or other equipment) granting a deny chance/other effects making them something closer to the 'spellcasters' of the other faction?

I'm sure the new cryptek will have some fun tricks for sure!

If they do I imagine they'll follow the C'tan's setup of having the offensive powers work during the shooting phase because well, no psykers here ergo no psychic phase needed.
Though if the powers end up being bought like wargear I can see that being the trade-off for the 'spell-casting' Crypteks. Their powers can't be denied and are more predictable then playing with the Warp (no perils etc) but you have to pay in points for each ability.
So you'd have the option of getting that squad of Wraiths or having the cryptek that can go "No, half your army does not get to roll armor/invul saves this turn."

or having the cryptek that can go "No, half your army does not get to roll armor/invul saves this turn." Holy hell, which power is this? Must be a Loyalist one as my lowly Chaos power only removes invul saves from a single unit. Darn Loyalists, they get everything.

Must be a Loyalist one as my lowly Chaos power only removes invul saves from a single unit. Darn Loyalists, they get everything. I was exaggerating to a degree. The power that I was riffing off was something I ran into on a librarian that negated all enemy invul saves in a bubble around him for the turn (bye bye C'tan shard and Wraiths). Granted if he pops that and charges into the middle of my infantry core, all the invuls from the aura turn off. As for the potential styles of powers I was looking at the 'castes' of Crypteks that are in the the fluff and in 6th edition. Of course there would need to be changes from the old effects of the wargear. Harbinger Of Despair: Harbinger of Destruction: Harbinger of Eternity: Harbinger of the Storm Harbinger of Transmogrification GW has a good collection of potential powers they could let the crypteks 'equip'. So perhaps that squad of assault terminators find they only have the saves of carapace for a turn or the tactical squad got shot at is rolling morale checks with the leadership of conscripts etc.
