Yah! A ton of teams coming in from out of town, which is awesome, but filled everything up super quick!

Obligatory "but 8th is the worst thing to happen to 40k, no one will ever touch it again!" post.
But yeah, great to see such volume, even if it can be a touch inconvenient.

Do we have enough terrain for all of the tables?
I can probably volunteer some of mine, if needed.
EDIT: The tournament roster has been updated, and looks like there's still one spot left after all!

We will actually need only 14 tables, so we're in a better spot than for club champs terrain wise (elbow room will be at a premium though) So you saw how fast the first FIFY TWO spots filled up.. due to a mixup we have room for ONE team of four. first come, first serve. if you want it get it pronto... I highly doubt it will be there more than a day or two. kingstonnexus.ca/events/warhammer-40k-tag-team-tournament-2018/

Given the demand for spots in Nexus tournaments this past year or two, I think it reflects very well on the calibre of tournaments Shannon runs. Well done!!

These are some questions posed that were answered: (had Mike put them up on the website too)
FAQ Rules clarification:
Q – Can i use my command abilities on my team mates army if we are for example both playing craftworlds/chaos etc? A – No, you and your teammate’s army cannot benefit from spells that target friendly units, command abilities or other benefits.
Q – Will we be using ITC rules or just the rulebook as is? A – Locally we do not use ITC rules. We are not affiliated with ITC at all and do not award points etc.
Q – Are beta rules in effect? A – All beta rules are in effect.
Q – Can my psychic powers be used on my teammates models/units if we are for example both craftworlds/chaos etc. A – No, your armies cannot benefit from each others abilities or spells.
Q – What are the painting restrictions A – No painting requirement – but it’s 1k – do your best!
Q – Are there points for hobby scoring as well as gameplay? A – There are points awarded for other “soft” scores such as sportsmanship, which is one of our more heavily weighted soft scores locally.
Q – Do auras like Guilliman’s work on allies? A – No, you cannot affect your partner’s army in any beneficial way..
Q – If we both have fire prisms can we use the stratagem to fire his through mine? A – No, you cannot affect your partner’s army in any beneficial way.
Q – Can we confirm the no stacking rules? Ex. If both player have chaos space marines can my sorcerer cast warptime on my partners unit? As long as they have all the proper key words? A – No, you cannot affect your partner’s army in any beneficial way.

Been brought to my attention that at least some attendees are concerned with a couple of things:
- out of town teams who are not familiar with the "friendlier" (ie: non ITC) lists locally bringing power gaming lists leading to unfun games for the rest.
- multiple LOW's, especially knights, being too much in this format, and possibly needing to be restricted to one LOW per team.
I talked to the person who raised these concerns about this issue, and stated that I would present this to the community at large and see what the general consensus was, as I didn't want my own thoughts/biases colouring the discussion, especially since I am bringing at team to this event!
The only thing I can do with the first issue is give a reminder about our local meta being of the "tough but fair" variety rather than the "netlist highly competitive ITC points" variety, which I've done. In the end people are free to bring whatever lists they want to any event, it's not my job to "list-comp police" everyone, nor do I WANT that thankless, grief filled job..lol been there done that.
I think our community and the structure of our tournaments (draw prizes only, no ITC, etc.) keep things to a manageable level with the ultra-competitive lists (who generally can find tournaments more to their liking elsewhere - there's lots of those types of tournies to choose from!)
Second issue: well I think that needs to be an open discussion... so have at it!

You should probably contact Nexus to ensure that your team is listed... as right now the names aren't up there - team name OR team members names

First point. I think your doing a great job already with that point. Shannon you know the list I am thinking of bringing. It’s not highly competitive/ITC tournament list.m but it is also not solid. 1000 points is not a lot. When your adding 1 of 3 other lists the team list should be built around support each other. Everyone is going to bring a list that others are going to think are op or strong ect. I think it is hard to police the list building process. Everyone’s opinion is different.
With saying that.
Point two. 1 LOw per 2000pts is normally the tournament standard. Since this is 4 x 1000 pts. I say teams can bring 2 LOW. How ever they seem to divvy that up.
