I'm a primarily chaos player.... who builds melee lists with no shooting... and I played the mission to test it under these circumstances and even brought a soul grinder.
worked out absolutely fine. (won in fact)

Going second actually looks like an advantage on that mission. You get the last crack at opening the portal.

I have a question on how the 6s to wound are ap 2 in void spam point interacts with something like storm of fire warlord trait.
Would you make the shot ap 2 and the add for storm of fire making it AP 3. Or do you add for storm of fire and then compare to the AP 2 of the mission as the mission is capped at AP 2?

I don’t know what list to bring. Any suggestions?

I don’t know what list to bring. Any suggestions? The one with the most Tzaangors. Obviously. Didn't you get the memo? Everyone is suppose to bring an all-Tzaangors army so it's just 39 people playing Tzaangors + Matt.

Just a sea of the worst betrayal the Thousand Sons have suffered since Nikaea.

(won in fact) Only joking! I quite like the look of the new missions. I like the pseudo-Maelstrom nature of Vengeance for Connor in particular. Question regarding Seize the Forge: does/should the Knight Crusader have the <Imperium> keyword?

actually that's a pretty reasonable idea...

I do like most of the missions this year. Quick question, on subterranean assault units arriving from reserve take mortal wounds. How would this work for units like drones that attach to units of crisis suits and then separate after they deploy?

the whole unit together (crisis suits and drones) counts as one unit til it hits the table... so check to see if affected then apply it - and assign wounds as you see fit - then the drones (if still alive) split off from the suits.
Because it's your turn, by the rules you decide the order of operations between the "mishap" effect and the splitting of the unit.
