And unless I'm mistaken it looks like everyone has got it who has signed up. Only 4 spots left?

Hey,
A few questions about display boards. I could have swear I remember Jonathan asking about other models on the board? But can’t find the question or answer.
1. I want to add other models on my display board to enhance it. Is that a problem?
2. Size. I know there are going to be 40 people there and size matters. Is 2’x2’ the largest. Or will you entertain Different shapes ie. 1’ x 3’ or 20” x 26” ect.

Hi Chris, I recall these answers off-hand so....
1. No problem at all; Shannon knows what army you're bringing, so long as they make sense to the board then it's all good.
Going off-the-cuff for this next one...
2. I've always sized display board to have a minimum of "dead space" to them, while being able to have the models adequately spaced to allow Shannon and the other judges a good look so they're not having to move too much to see everything. That said... a small amount of dead space for a scenic or "diorama" portion to your board is REALLY important in my opinion.
Personally, I like a display board that's not too crowded, has some elevation changes, and augments the models being presented. If that means you need to go a few inches bigger, then so be it; just arrive early enough to get you stuff down before everyone else gets there and not move you display board, lol.

my two cents:
add whatever terrain or details you want to the display board. I've got your list to compare to, so it's easy to tell which is which, but I wouldn't advise putting anything on the board that isn't up to the same painting level as the rest of what's on there as it might detract...
bigger is NOT better on the display boards, at all. you bring a huge display board which is taking up all the space on the overflow tables and not really adding to anything, you won't get the top marks for the display board, just because of how it was designed.

Each squad had it own zone and no bases were touching. I think that's a fair reference in terms of what you can do with a 2x2' board size. If you have a scenic element that will take up board space that you don't want to put models on..aka water feature or mountain you might need to go a touch bigger. but 2x2' is a good starting point.

Mike told me this morning there was an open spot. As I have now withdrawn from the tournament for family health reasons, there are two spots now available and no waiting list. Anybody who's been circling this, now's your chance! My best wishes to all who can attend. May the best and / or luckiest competitor win!!
