Hah, Wood elves rule!! Having just beat Scott's Skaven with them on Thursday, I have decided they would be too powerful to bring for Ard Boyz - kind of like bringing a 40K army to a fantasy battle ;D I am definitely up for taking on Teclis or just about anyone else for that matter. A lot of lists I have seen use a 4th level and a powerscroll to get the IF which is similar to Teclis although way cooler if you have just charged into combat and detonate. One thing I have noticed lately is that magic isn't quite so overpowering in bigger games as there are more and bigger units on the table so losing one or two isn't quite as drastic as it is with a 2K list. In any event, should be a hoot tomorrow so I'll see you at Nexus. PS - Don't have a clue about the Teclis coming for the governor quote. \ Greetings, Yea that quote is from this game called Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. The original quote is: "Nightbringer comes for you, Governor" Which is pretty sweet. Although if one had to be in the govenors bunker, hearing that on the vox.....one would probably just grab a pistol and shoot ones brains out right then. The Dawn of War games used to be really good too. Now, the story lines and voice acting is starting to get really lame and childish at points. Courage and Honour

Greetings,
I cannot wait to see what sort of mushroom snorting armies people use tomorrow. Should be pretty funny. It is extra funny, as I think 8th edition did a real lot to balance the game and get rid of stupid stuff from the older editions but the rules for this tourney are just so darn amazingly "intelligently written" that they sort of blow the balance back to the warp. In particular, one thing I used to hate was all those arrogant pricks that would take lots of guess range weapons and then totally destroy people with them just because they can map out the tables (honourably and dishonourably). The new rules level out that playing field and everyone can now have fun with artillery, not just mathematically minded individuals, which seems good :-).
Still, despite the crazy mission rules, should be a whole lot of fun tomorrow. I am in particular very interested to see if someone dares to show up with a Dawi army that has a whole lot of war machines. That would be entertaining to watch five or six cannons get sucked into the warp all in one turn :-P.
Oh and there should definitely be a cheesiest army award. The winner of that should get a bottle of sparkling grape and some Jarlsberg :-P.

shilekjalan - the 'arrogant pricks' as you call them are not the players bringing lots of warmachines to a cheesefest that blow you off the table. It is GW for allowing it to happen in their 'balanced' game. Save your hate/disgust for the right people. I guess since magic is considered so over-the-top (some spells) and you can expect some heavy magic use at Ard Boyz that may destroy armies these players are also 'arrogant pricks'? Just curious if your rant was against all cheese or selective cheese products.

I have no problem with cheese at all, in fact I find many types of it to be very enjoyable. Bringing lots of war machines is fine, mate. Go ahead if it makes you happy :-P. Wow I did not know I was ranting, lol, okay. I definitely was not trying to sound hateful....leave that to the politicians. In fact I have a pretty darn peaceful, chilled out mate :-). Well, peace be onto you mate, and read the post better next time okay? Courage and Honour

shilekjalan - if your earlier post was intended as humour/fun then I apologize for my tone. I certainly did not intend to attack you - just the perceived comment.
Anyways, how did Ard Boyz go?

Greetings, Well, it was pretty darn funny. As for me personally, I ended up taking second place. When the dude running the tournament said my name for second place, I said (without thinking first lol) "what the hell???" I was so shocked, I thought I would be very lucky to get third place. So that was hilarious. It took me hours to get over the funniness of that. The tournament was awesome. Lots of wacky, fun armies and lots of good games. It was very intellectually stimulating as well. Pretty sweet overall! Courage and Honour

There was ten altogether... (so rather low for a free tourney actually)
there were 2 warriors of chaos, 2 skaven, 1 lizardmen, 1 orcs/goblins, 2 dark elves, 1 high elves and 1 beastmen
so pretty good mix for sure...!
