"You are not allowed to benefit from your partner's psychic abilities, legion etc. traits (you don't get "for the greater good" if your partner is tau for example!). You count as two independent 1k lists working together - NOT a 2k list run by two people!"
I had a quick question about debuffing a unit in the team tournament the 2 examples being markerlights and minus characteristics.
1. If a psyker casts -1 toughness on a unit do both partners treat that unit as -1 toughness, or only the casters list? as you not allowed to benefit from your partner's psychic abilities? Same questions for Leadership debuff/ butcher cannon debuff, would an allies ability use the modified Ld or the normal LDs. For example some one cast -1 Toughness on a knight, do both partners now treat the knight as T7 for the turn. (debuff are communal)
2. Tau Markerlights are word as " When a unit is hit by a markerlight, place a counter next to it for the remainder of the phase. The table below describes the benefit T'AU EMPIRE models have when shooting at a unit that has markerlight counters. All effects are cumulative." Are the markerlight counter tracked army by army or are counter communal like a debuff.(obviously this will be effected by the answer to question 1.)

1. A debuff is on the unit itself.. so if a knight is made to be T7 it is T7 regardless of who attacks it (friend or foe)
2. Markerlights and any other "my army is buffed against you" only affects the army that places the marker lights on it. Applies to any other affect like this.
So basically if it helps you to do something (ie: buffs) it's separate... if it's "I make you suck" (debuff) effects then it sticks on the unit regardless of who does it.

I guess I was thinking more of A pysker power that said "the target unit does not gain any bonus to its saving throws for being in cover" debuffs a unit and 3 marker counters that say "the target unit does not gain any bonus to its saving throws for being in cover" are different. But I guess Markerlights are very faction specific.

Tau are the only ones that can make use of markerlights... but I guess things could get messy with a double tau team...

I know "the greater good" is silly in tag team due to the overwatch on anything so happy that was addressed. Either way the markerlight fall it doesn't matter in the end, just wanted to bring it up before digging to deep into lists.

If something would affect allies AND enemies - ie Skarbrand's aura, or an Aegis Defence Line - is it reasonable that this would affect both you and your partner?

yes, skarbrand affects absolutely everyone... so "friend and foe" effects are universal

You will have to pardon my ignorance but I signed up Matthew Santiago and myself the other day. Paying for both of us but only I show up on the list does Matt have to dign up as well and how does he proceed to show that he is already paid for. It gave me the option to pay for us both and pay for both so I assumed ( yep know the saying so...) it would be easy peasy lemon squeezy.

he's on the list, the spot is just reserved under your name as team captain... just the way the website signup works (I personally wish it was NOT this way however I'm not actually in charge of anything...lol)
so it's all good no worries! (hence why your team takes up TWO sign up spots)
hmmm....(just checked)
... it would appear we only have space for four more teams then we're totally full!
