I wanted to throw this out there, and see if anyone would be interested in reading a Battle Tactics series of articles written by yours-truly.
What I'm thinking I want to write about is how to maneuver your army on the table top in order to execute a "Battle Plan". Effectively, each article catalogs a different strategy and acts as a "How To" execute different tactics, and provides a short description and diagrams of different ways you can utilize your army on the table top to try and adapt to different opponents, scenarios and strategies, with a little knowledge of when to use them.
Why do I want to do this? Well, I'm a bit of an amateur historian and I've spent an extensive amount of time in my life studying generals and battles from ancient times until the modern era. I've read a number of famous and no-so-famous works that write about things from the planning for D-Day and the Invasion of the Philippines, to the many battles Hannibal fought on his campaign through Rome in the Punic War(s) in ancient times, and a huge number of other influential battles that shaped our world. It's sort of an interest I have always had that bleeds over into tabletop wargaming for me.
The other reason I'm interested in this is it provides a form of professional development for me in my career, part of my day job entails writing very clear and concise technical instructions, diagrams, and descriptions for others to follow, and I am looking for an outlet that will allow me to develop those skills further, and I felt that this may be an interesting and fun way for me to do this.
If there's interest out there in our gaming community in this, or you'd like to see a sample article before you decide, feel free to post below and tell me. (Note this doesn't just apply to 40k, much of what I'm envisioning could apply to Age of Sigmar, Flames of War, or basically any other tabletop wargame that involves directing the flow of battle.)
Poll is set to close on August 14th, as that's around when I would tentatively "launch" this if there's any interest.
