Signup HERE: kingstonnexus.ca/events/age-of-sigmar-holiday-bloodbath-of-hugs-2021/Kingston Gaming Nexus – Sunday December 5th Registration at 8:30 AM, dice roll at 9:00 AM
9:00 – 11:30 – Game one 11:30 – 12:30 – lunch 12:30 – 3:00 – Game Two 3:00 – 5:30 – Game three 5:30 – Prizes and awards (note- we’re giving a LOT of time for games due to this being an introductory tourney – if we don’t NEED that much time, we can adjust, as the following round will just start a bit earlier if everyone finishes before time) 1500 points, 3 games, $20 entry fee This is a very friendly, introductory tournament to Age of Sigmar, and it is perfectly fine if you do not have much experience with the new system (given 3.0 has just recently been released we’re all pretty new here!). As such when you build your lists, try to ensure it is on the friendly side. Even though you MIGHT own the latest greatest GT winning list, this tourney is not really the place for the netlists, as it will be predominantly brand new players to the system. We’ll be using the missions from the General’s Handbook 2021 NO PAINTING REQUIREMENT! (a lovely shade of grey plastic is perfectly acceptable!) NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! (can be your first games of AOS, it's okay, we'll help out!) All prizes are door prizes - you will get tickets to put in a draw of your choice for awesome prizes! Due to Covid 19 restrictions, you must wear a mask for the entirety of the time inside Nexus, as well as being double vaccinated to attend. If you are unable to wear a mask or you are not vaccinated, unfortunately you cannot attend this event.

Since the missions are from the generals handbook, do we still roll for mission, or will they be decided for us?

"this tourney is not really the place for the netlists"
*looks at Beasts of Chaos army*
No problem, chief!

signup is up! I've edited the first post with a link
Also I said to Mike "AOS winter tourney isn't very inventive, so hopefully you can come up with a much better name"
the resulting awesome title ensued....

I haven't played any this edition and only 1 game last edition before lockdown. I do have an ogor army big enough to join in. Wondering if ogors are like a "big bad" or if there's anything I should avoid when building my list for a friendly tourney? I only have the start collecting beastclaw and the Christmas battleforce from last year to pull from so hopefully nothing from that is too strong.

So, odd question, but the bathroom at Nexus is closed, and this is a day long event. Would we just have to run out on the lunch break to hopefully find a place with an open bathroom if one is needed, or are we just out of luck?

The bathroom is open for people who are there for events so don't worry.

Signed up! Super excited! Probably going to bring Stormcast. Been building this army for years I should probably actually use it in a tourney. 😁

I’ll be there with my “stormcast eternals that I own” themed army

That is an awesome theme for what it's worth.

I think Ogors are generally considered fun to play against anytime I’ve played against them. If your opponent has agency and can fight back against your stuff (which people can do against ogors even though they hit like a train in combat) generally you’ll have a fun game. The troublesome stuff for casual events is when you have to explain using language like “actually all this happens before you get to do anything, you can’t roll any saves all your stuff is dead, they don’t need line of sight/to be in combat to kill you” etcetera. Even that stuff is fine in moderation, but when your opponent kills all your stuff on turn 1 or prevents you from being able to move the entire game is when it’s probably not the right strategy for a casual event. tl;dr I think your Ogors are going to be totally fine and will lead to fun games

I play ogres as well.. can't really think of anything that is too over the top. You should be totally fine!
