Games Day Info
The event as said before is a friendly event and is more of a games day then an actual tournament. We will be doing Swiss pairings to make the event run as smoothly as possible. If you are arriving with a friend and do not want to play them in the first round, please bring that info forward, we can’t guarantee you won’t play that person in the rounds but at least have you play someone new the first round. There won’t be any major prize for first place besides bragging rights
Since a lot of us haven’t played in a while either due to COVID or life in general, please be kind and I have tried to give enough time for each game. Please be kind and help your opponent out if they are making mistakes. The games are starting out small to help build up and get people used to their armies and rules so by the time we get to the 3rd round, we should be fairly familiar with their army and should speed up the game.
Rules
All games are being played using the 6th edition rule book as well as any errata and clarifications that were released in the Warhammer Annuals and Chronicles. For any clarification or issue finding these sources, please contact myself at. Danj.macdonald90@gmail.com
Armies:
Your army can be made up of any models that accurately represent the warriors in your army list, they do not have to be citadel/GW models.
Proxies are not allowed.
Armies do not need to be painted but should be at least primed and fully assembled. Next event we will look at doing fully painted.
Special and named characters are not allowed at this event.
Armies can be selected from any of the 6th edition army books as well as any that appear in Storm of Chaos and any of the Annuals such as Kislev or Dogs of War.
Back of the book lists will be allowed at this event as they are a unique way of playing certain armies. Though War of the beard army lists can’t be used (they are meant to fight in a campaign setting) as well as armies that require special characters such as the Vampire Coast or Sehenesmet’s army list for Tomb Kings.
Every player in attendance is required to make 3 army lists that are at 750, 1250 and 2000 and not a point above.
Dispel scrolls and similar items will be limited to 1 per army. No scroll caddies.
Units and characters must continue to stay in the army when moving to the next size. A unit of 10 high archers that was in the 750 point list must be in the 1250 point list but can be upgraded with more models or add command. Once a unit has been given an upgrade or magic items they must remain in the list. The only exception to this rule is characters being upgraded to a bigger mount ( swapping a horse for a juggernaut of khorne) or if you decide to take a Lord and want your hero to progress to be a Lord. They must be the Lord version of that character ( ex: High elf mage becoming a Arch Mage or a Chaos exalted Hero becoming a Chaos Lord) and they must keep any magic items they had previously been equipped with.
List will be given a quick review day of the event to ensure no one is bringing too many points and will be required for judges and such. A second set of lists will be needed for your opponent to see your army selection but these lists will not require any magic items, banners, and hidden upgrades such as fanatics.
Armies may take Dogs of War as rare choices as normal rules as per their army selection.
Remember that at under 2k, only 2 core choices are required and a 3rd isn’t need till the last game
Scenarios:
Round 1 Battle line with a twist
Round 2 TBD
Round 3 TBD
Extras:
I am not an expert in 6th edition so I will do my best to give rulings for any questions but try your best to solve any issues with reading through the rulebook and talking through the issue with your opponent.
Prizes at the event will all be raffled off, so the only thing you win for First place is a nice round of applause and the gloating rights.
If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me about rules questions, any conversions or alternative models. Danj.macdonald90@gmail.com
