Is anyone interested in playing one offs or campaigns of mordheim? Are there any existing groups playing it in Kingston?

YES. I don't know about if there is anymore playing mordheim in the area but there always a chance. I'd be good for one off games or a campaign as long as its a bit slower, A game or 2 a month.

I loved it back when it first released. I dumped all my starter set stuff a while back since no one played any more and my gaming time was extremely limited so didn't expect to ever use it again

To my understanding, Mordheim was a skirmish style game with just a small handful of models, correct? And it also had rules for campaign play, in which your group levels up and gets stronger over the course of a few games. It sounds right up my alley from what little I know of it. Problem is, I don't own any models for it, and have no way of tracking down any rules for it either.
For what it's worth, there are some other games that fill the same niche. It's not the same ruleset, but it gives the same feel. I can give some recommendations for other games if anyone is interested.
That being said, if you are hell bent on the Mordheim ruleset, I can always look around online for a PDF copy of the rules, as I'd be willing to give it a shot. Something to note is that there is no chance in hell I am finding any models for it, so if I would find these rules, I'd just have to use various different models, assuming you would even be willing to let me join. Does the game use round or square bases?
TL;DR: I'd be interested, but would need to put third party models together and find the rules online.

I'd be up for giving the game a go. I always loved the old metal Beastmen warband from back in the day. Probably wouldn't be able to find those models without paying a fortune but I also have the spire tyrants from warcry I might convert to be a pit fighter warband.

End of the day the models aren't definitive, it's not like you have to use the OG metal models, or even GW stuff to be honest. Even back in the day most people converted their dudes. Especially if we were going to play locally, I think as long as the models look sufficiently appropriate and awesome, that's all that matters

Well I know we don’t need to use the old models at all but they look sweet. I’ve liked the beastmen warband since it release back in the early 2000s. I just never had a reason to buy them. I could Easily just find some 3d models and print them off but I want to paint those bad boys. But again they cost an arm and a leg so I’ll be using the spire tyrants as they are sitting in my pile of shame

I happen to have a set of the starter terrain and minis still, and would be up for playing sometime. It's a pretty fun game. The campaign system is fun but pretty random, and it gets out of control fast. Once a warband starts pulling ahead they're pretty much unstoppable.
Definitely a game that you don't want a power gaming mentality with. I don't have the rules printed out, but it could happen. I've got enough human models to do a mercenary warband and also the original skaven minis.

Thank you for the link to the rules. Seems like outside of undead and skaven, the warbands would be human. As such, I could probably just use various fantasy models and such from other games easily enough. Now I just need to see if I'll need round or square, hahaha. To google I go.

So, I just googled it. It seems the game uses square bases, but many people use round.
If a local community does pop up, what base types would you guys use? I'm hoping round, as I have no square bases, but figured I should still ask rather than just assume.

My understanding is that the "traditionalists" would say square 20mm or 25mm as appropriate. Since that's what the rest of the fantasy system is on. But if I remember correctly from quickly flipping the rules before it won't matter too much, there isn't a whole lot of rank and file going on

I'll probably go with round then. I also likely won't use GW models, but rather some fantasy models I can get my hands on.

Thanks. I'll admit, I likely can't actually buy anything until after the holidays, as buying gifts for others ended up being expensive, but I'll see what I can do.
