Six!? Gotta bump those numbers up!
But I’m excited to see all the head options in this kit.

My first impressions of the new prince are mostly positive, with a couple of downsides, that I hope have alternate build options.
Sorry buddy, but I hate your face. May be the paint job, but I'm hoping there are multiple heads to choose from. The other nitpick is the pose. The hero rock is sooo over done. It's really going to make a kit that should have plenty of customization options look very samey across the board, if they are all doing the captain morgan.
Definitely happy to see a new one coming though. People in my Beasts group have posted his, and a couple other warscrolls leaked from the STD book.
Ogroid Theridons are basically a unit of bullgors but better. A foresee a whole lot of head swaps to make them just that. Since their 1 hand and great weapon options get 2" reach, maybe I can hope?
A centaur hero. No, I'm not jealous. At all.
Named chaos knight, Eternus, on a mount named Drakocephalus. Looks like he has Legion of the First Prince keyword. Feels odd to give Belakor's faction a second named dude.
Horns of Hashut is a unit listed in the table of contents, but not yet seen. Speculation is a chaos dwarf warband coming for warcry. Makes sense to me.
Wasn't sure we'd see a big release for AoS this year, but it looks like Slaves are getting their due. It's about time they continued what they started with the sweet new start collecting box. Personally I'd have loved it if GW didn't tramp all over BoC's design space again, but that's just me. Still a little salty about Kragnos.

the one thing with most daemon kits is there are multiple head options
And Danny - three of my daemon princes are the old metal greater daemons, who are all daemon prince sized now lol

I agree with Dave. Great model with a bad face.

+1 on the face but the pose is nice. I actually like my chaos boys to be ugly so it's not a dealbreaker, but I don't really need one either.
I'm much more hyped about the news about the battletomes. 3.0 got off to a sluggish start and there's a ton of armies in desperate need of a rules update.
Could be very hype to have an edition mostly complete after a year.

It's almost like GW can actually pump out army books at a decent rate when they aren't trying to squeeze them in between all the campaign supplements.
Definitely looking forward seeing more 3rd ed books out there. The ones they've done so far all appear to be pretty great. Great as in thematic, and decently balanced. They may not generate the hype and "conversation" that we see occur every time a new 40k book comes out, but I hear people are actually able to enjoy playing AoS with their old books without feeling like they've been creeped into oblivion. That should probably count for something. Maybe.

GW had a bunch of codexes and battletomes ready to go a long time ago, but their printer was in total lockdown... bunch of stuff was delayed and re-ordered as their model manufacturing is now in-house, but their printing is not... so what we're seeing finally is the catch up to the things they wanted to roll out for some time now.
I'm glad they're catching up... people are out of all the lockdowns and want to play... give us the books! we're ready!

STD need a book really badly so them being next is also good. The current book plays okay compared to some but it's incredibly patchwork because of the rules drip and massive amounts of altered text from 3.0, plus a few choice nerfs. And it was kind of a messy overly complex and internally inconsistent book when it was new!
The quintessential units are in an especially poor spot with chaos warriors and knights hitting like wet noodles and needing to be massively buffed to be effective. Ideally these units get brought up to par with their stormcast counterparts.

sadly STD aren't next... or even next after next...
they're in the timeline for the winter... EIGHT battletomes are being released between now and then!

Aww I just assumed based on the timing. Kinda lame but I guess they'll get there eventually.

Slaves to Darkness aren't the worst faction, or even the second worst, in Chaos alone. Blades of Khorne and Skaven are desperate for new books - and Ossiarch Bonereapers barely even play right in 3rd edition.
S2D might be a broken, complicated mess - but that's just the game we play, innit

True. Mostly I, and everyone I assume, just want warriors to get a proper 3.0 treatment. They got left out in the cold for 2+ editions and SCE really need an adversary on the same level.
