Recently stumbled upon mantics firefight. Great little system for less money then GW by 40 percent rough guess. Pros: Only two universal command rules and three per army. generate random number of command pts per turn based on base + plus leaders You go I go system, makes sure you don't feel like you are playing two different games (for a command pt once per turn do another unit after already activating. Can be very strategic. Starter comes with 800 pts each, of max 2000 pt lists (warpath is there epic battle system, needs update imho.) Both books, one is the rulelist lore etc, other is a complete pts, rules list for all the avaiable armies. (what 2 books... heresy!) Starter is 71 models for 120 plus tax, all tokens, rules and army builder book plays faster lots of keywords to give individual units a different feel. plays like legion, were movement and shooting are based from leader. This makes for less arguements and quicker gameplay. Cons D8 can feel swingy (1 always miss, 8 always hit.) no limit on modifiers. Think this would depend on person even if you go above a required 8, you can half your dice and fish for 8s models are not as detailed, the line is smaller, The orcs are chunky boys thou! not as crunchy as eh40k no saves, just to hit, then meet or exceed armour. (there is resilence trait which makes you re-roll a certain amount of success') movement is less restricted then wh40k, sometimes feeling sloppy. imgur.com/a/YXN1xFH picture of a few models, ive just quick painted so dont get crazy on me. Besides my name is not Matt M. lmao!

For what it's worth, I think you did a fine job painting those figures, especially since you say they were a quick job.
My main concern is that while you can buy packs of D6s, I don't think it's easy to find D8s on their own. They seem to come in packs of RPG dice, which go from 4 sides to 20 sides. So, it may be difficult to get enough dice without tons of excess.
Then again, I don't know the rules, so it's always possible that they don't use handfuls of dice, but only a small amount.
