Looks like people are leveraging the "what to do about bounty hunters" into some pretty deadly lists: www.goonhammer.com/competitive-innovations-in-the-mortal-realms-somehow-aelf-nonsense-returned/hmmm it seems as though (see recent AOS GT results) that I'm not the only one trying to figure out battleline vs. Bounty Hunters issue. seems that there's a couple schools of thought: 1 - very minimal battleline (weird that in the season that was supposed to be all about battleline infantry the opposite appears true) 2 - major turn one shooting to kill the bounty hunter units I found the soulblight vampires list that won the first tourney to be very interesting in that it is pretty much the exact opposite of how I play (and how I'm playing just isn't working, I haven't won a single game with my vamps) - hero-hammer with spell overload and minimal troops with some heavy hammers. The beast list that won it's GT was CRAZY... 10 cockatrices? what?

People have been floating the all-cockatrice meme list in the BoC group for a while, but this is the first time I've seen it played outside of TTS. I guess it can do the business, though I'm sure belakor did his part too.
Definitely seems like, outside of a few armies that can double down onto a super tanky tarpit, minimizing the Veterans in your army, and focusing on Bountyhunters is the way to go. Melt the opponent’s vet's and make their bountyhunters mostly pointless.
I guess I was already doing this. The beauty of min units of gors or ungors is that they were already being overkilled by a good margin whenever faced with a decent threat. Anything my opponent wants to put into bounty hunters really doesn't need that +1dmg anyway.
I guess the other strat is to run a shooty army. But don't. Because no one likes those 😜
I am disappointed, but not totally surprised, that GW envisioned a season focusing on footslogging battleline, and then wrote rules pushing you to run everything but, haha.

My problem is my vamp, ogre and snakes are mostly battleline!

Yeah, there are definitely some armies and builds that struggle not to become easy targets.
I'm a bit disappointed I'm incentivized to run the same units as last year, when I wanted a reason to flood the board with goats, but I really can't complain. Besides gors and ungors, everything is conditional battleline in Beasts.
