The Firestorm Assault Force looks intriguing for Ravenwing. Making all ranged weapons Assault lets us Advance and Shoot/perform Tactical Objectives. Adding 1 to Strength within 12" kind-of answers my Multi-Melta complaint. Bumping Outrider Bolt Rifles to Strength 5 in close will help against the T4 to T9 bracket of targets. Definitely want Thunderstrikes.
The WHC video indicates that the new book is designed to work with the non-Compliant Chapters.
I guess we have to have faith in the Emperor and see what the book brings.
One thing I know - It will bring changes to the League lists again!

Also maybe it's just me being hopeful but with full re-roll to wound toned down you might see some things like desolator marines come back down a little in cost. When you aren't re-roll everything with a billion blast weapons its not so bad. Also oath once per game still gives full re-rolls if needed. Full Oath is only for the 1st company detachment, sadly. And while I agree there were some powerful ways to utilize Oath I don't think they were even remotely comparable to some of the stuff CSM and Aeldari could do, for example. We'll see what they wind up doing, but the Oath nerf is much more than just for codex SM it impacts Blood Angels as well who weren't doing great already and the Dataslate changes didn't do much to make them much better in a shooting edition. Space Wolves at least are getting the White Scars detachment to take advantage of so their Thunderwolves are still going to very much be full power.

Ya I do agree the the ripples from the SM codex are definitely the most wide reaching of any book in an edition. With SM being a core part of all the other marines like Wolves, DA and BA it ends up being even more critical for them to get it right.

Yeah my wolves are definitely looking at these detachments and licking their chops, the Champions of Russ detachment has good stratagems, but the actual detachment abilities are just awkward to use and the enhancements are mediocre at best.
The firestorm assault detachment looks promising, but I am also looking at the first-company because a lot of the old wolf-guard keyworded units would synergize well it in as well. I think both are legit options.

The Shadow Masters rule is pretty cool. Perma-Stealth and always granting cover is cool, but you'd almost want to make sure you never took any of the units that natively get stealth because it'd be a waste; unless there's some way for those to stack that I'm not seeing.

Yeah it's sort of ironic that the sneaky chapter tactic is actually best for things like vehicles. Which was similar to the case with Raven Guard before, except infantry got an upgraded version.

They'd have the stealth to fall back on if the opponent gets within 12'' at least?

I like how on the Table of contents if you watch the video, that drop pod is at the end, near all the dedicated Transports... Hope they fixed that.
