They promise more, but yeah... Imhotek isn't anything to write home about IMO. He's a got a cool new mini, which is nice; hopefully some more of the character range gets new stuff, and ideally some new vehicles?
The Hyperphase Legion looks absolutely amazing. Silver tide style crons in a Hyperphase to jump your bricks around the board is just gross. Hopefully the Monolith gets some upscaling on damage output so it's not just a utility teleporter.

I'll buy the plastic Imotekh... but yea... he's a bit underwhelming to me. I would've liked a newer pose or some lightning to really emphasize the "Stormlord" part of his name. He doesnt feel as menacing as he should. There's more detailing on the newer model though, and that's a good thing. Although overall I think they had a lot of opportunity to really upgrade the character when transitioning from the old finecast and they wasted it going with a side-grade.

Honestly I'm 'meh' on the Stormlord (what is up with that giant jaw/chin?) but am interested in the paint scheme that they used for the cloak.
As for the 2CP redeploy, the nice thing is that you can yank infantry units out of combat. On the other hand it's infantry only so warriors, immortals, lychguard, deathmarks and both types of melee destroyers.

And we just got the answer to the rumor picture that popped up a while ago. Seems that we will be getting a new Overlord based around a new piece of wargear (or enhancement), the translocation shroud.
I can see this being very nasty on a Lychguard block because it lets the unit auto-advance 6 inches and can move horizontally through terrain and enemy models.

I like this model. Could be used as a veil of darkness too.
Do I need another overlord. No. But I might pick him up.

I thought putting a vertical water pipe behind him and a shower head would be fitting as well. Jokes aside, it's a cool concept for sure, and while I feel the model pose could have been a bit better, the effect is still there; and I like that they're actually trying to have in-game effects shown on models, not just wargear. That's a cool change that I'm enjoying.

From a recent post over on Warhammer community, they have free downloadable combat patrol rules for the Necron CP box.
I've never had a chance to compare these sorts of rules to 'standard' ones but does anyone know if or how different they tend to be?
Because the stat-lines seem pretty much the same with just some abilities being removed. And I was looking at the enhancements and strats shown as things possibly showing up in the codex.

They're different than the codex versions...at least the nids one is... Can't speak to the Marines.
So don't count on them necessarily being an indicator of codex changes

So don't count on them necessarily being an indicator of codex changes I was thinking more in terms of potential stratagems and enhancements. Having a way to give 'fall back and shoot' to my warrior blocks would be nice.

Completely different. Use them as an indicator of nothing. Combat Patrol has been heavily criticized for teaching players a completely different game to 40k, and is unfortunately basically useless as an introductory sample.
