So. If we are bringing greater demons and Legend of the Horus Heresy are we really jerks if we bring a Primarch? The Lion is way over-costed now. Asking for a friend.

Lion is majorly toned down now. He certainly isn't what he used to be. I don't see an issue with him.

So, in the event I'd actually be able to do this thing, I have a question.
So, a named character is required as the warlord. Are regular, non-named generic guys allowed as a different, non-warlord hero? As such, If I had "Bob, Legendary Destroyer of Worlds" as my named warlord, could I also have a "Generic Captain Person or Whatever" in the army as well?

yes, there's no limit to how many characters, even named characters you bring. Just one named character must be the warlord.

With Tau getting a new codex will I have to use all the new points values from the codex? Iv seen some tournaments say to use old points values unless it is a new unit like the krootox rampagers.

I am not the TO, but our practice here has been to use the latest MFM points. New Codexes locked behind a special box are not in play for tourneys/league until the Codex gets its general release.
The TO will likely set a cutoff date.

Yeah have we heard when the real codex gets dropped for Tau? I know Orks and Custodes are inbound as well.
I'd say that the rules cutoff for this would make sense Sunday May 5th. Gives a week, but it's a friendly tourney so I certainly don't want to make it too far out so people can still play their new stuff.
Iain is right, if GW has paywalled a codex behind a special edition box, we wait until the real codex drops. It's only fair to those players who might not want to shell out $200+ to get the rules early. Latest MFM points until word from GW that points are officially different.

All the points for tau have gone up and gone up a lot... this sucks the points are all the ones they USE to have in Sept of 2023, which is probably when the codex was ready for release. Outside of the new modls that didn't have datasheets before all the MFM point are actually where the tau are going to be when MFM 1.7 drops hopefully in May. a good example is the riptide 235 in Aug 2023, dropped to 200 in Sept, and 165 at least MFM, the book has them back to 235, its crazy silly.

Time line that was laided out, Orks codex - April 27th Custode codex - April 27th Tau wave 2 Pre-order April 27th Tau codex - May 4th MFM 1.7 - vaugely between April 27th and May 25th, rumoured to be closer to start of may.

OK just registered on BCP for the tournament as the email requested and apparently there are two of me. I think I know what caused this oddity and can fix it on the weekend.
