Okay, I probably shouldn't even say how many hours it took me to do this... cuz it was a bit... But here is the index for updating my Star Wars Galactic Empire army to 10th edition. Feel free to give feedback / thoughts / ranting and raging as needed. Points aren't sorted quite yet. Basically I'm going to just compare each unit to as close an option as possible in existing 40k and give it that. Detachment / army abilities are pretty tame by today's standard for certain. To create this I had the Tyranid cards handy as a base power level for things so you know... it's around there power wise somewhere. AT-AT is based upon a shooting knight chassis (almost exactly). Occupier tank is a less powerfully armed land raider... etc. Take a look and let me know what you think. -----------------> Version Three incorporating all the advice I've been given up to this point is here: www.mediafire.com/file/hvddtnenljfih9y/10th_edition_index_-_Galactic_Empire.pdf/fileAnd here's the points (before playtesting) - www.mediafire.com/file/y1oztcnvx8hdh79/galactic_empire_points.pdf/file

I'm no where near good enough to put balance thoughts together - but this is rad. Good job!

Thanks! It's mostly for fun... maybe for crusade for a laugh... but I'm sure it's not really a competitive force (most units are T3 with 1 wound and a 4+ save lol)

Version two is now up in the first post. Thanks for all the feedback I've gotten locally, and from the 40k fandex facebook group!

Looks really cool! A few suggestions:
For the Cybernetic Augmentation enhancement, I would suggest something other than +1 Toughness. When a Character is leading a unit they're forced to use the Toughness characteristic of their bodyguard unit even if theirs is higher (even against Precision attacks), so it won't often come up. Maybe swap for -1 Damage, or a 5+ Feel No Pain?
I would suggest replacing one of Palpatine's command point abilities with something else, even if the intention is to be able to use both. A similar, but different, approach could be: As I Have Forseen - Once per battle, after your opponent uses a Stratagem, this model can use this ability. If it does, until the end of the battle, each time your opponent uses that Stratagem, increase its cost to your opponent by 1CP.
Darth Maul's Sith Drones could be streamlined, a la the Ghostkeel Battlesuit, to - Sith Drones: Three times per battle, after an attack has been allocated to this model, you can change the Damage characteristic of that attack to 0.
I notice that Scout Troopers, Stormtroopers, Snowtroopers, Shoretroopers, and E-Web Heavy Blaster Teams have no datasheet abilities. There are almost no units in 10th edition that lack datasheet abilities, so I'd suggest maybe something along these lines:
Scout Troopers - Guerrilla Tactics: At the end of your opponent’s turn, if this unit is more than 6" away from all enemy models, you can remove this unit from the battlefield and place it into Strategic Reserves.
Stormtroopers - Shock Troops: At the end of your Command phase, if this unit is within range of an objective marker you control, that objective marker remains under your control, even if you have no models within range of it, until your opponent controls it at the start or end of any turn.
Snowtroopers - Masters of Close Confines: Each time a model in this unit makes a ranged attack that targets the closest eligible target, that attack has the [LETHAL HITS] ability.
Shoretroopers - Defence Force: While this unit is within range of an objective marker, each time a ranged attack targets this unit, models in this unit have the Benefit of Cover against that attack.
E-Web Heavy Blaster Team - Covering Fire: Each time you target this unit with the Fire Overwatch Stratagem, while resolving that Stratagem, hits are scored on unmodified Hit rolls of 4+.

Ah, really good point on cybernetic augmentation... will fix that.
I had added the vect strat to thrawn so wanted to keep palpatine different (I mean, TWO vects might be a bit much lol) but I'll give some thought to this as well.
Nicer wording on Maul's drones... I like it.
well those datasheet abilities are awesome... way better than what I did (ahem nothing lol)... I will totally do all that too. I keep erring on the "don't make this too strong" side.. which is probably not the way to go or some datasheets will just be straight up useless.
Thank you!

Second suggestion - As I Have Forseen: Once per battle round, if this model is on the battlefield, you may use the Command Reroll Stratagem for 0 CP, and can do so even if you have used that Stratagem this phase.

** cough shatter point **cough cough
Index looks cool. It's nice to see this kinda stuff that was common in 5th/6th. GW well making some cool models and trying a hand at better balance has put some of the hobbist stuff on the back burner.

yes shatterpoint... I was sorely tempted, the models look amazing... but lack of time is crushing my playing time, especially for a new system - which is why I never jumped into old world...

Points are now updated in first post.
Feel free to take a look and provide feedback... this was me literally opening up the Field Manual, finding the closest match to a unit from an existing codex/index and going with close point wise.
I probably got some of these wrong, but I tried to err on the side of a few points over an existing unit rather than being undercosted. (taking into account the squad sizes for troops was 7 instead of 10 as that is what the legion boxes are based on)
