For those that don't know... and a reminder for those that do!
GW is very particular on their intellectual property... Please do not post stat-lines from a GW Army book / Codex....
Any such posts will be deleted immediately......
Thanks... I don't feel like being sued for running a forum....

While I certainly will adhere to these rules, I'm not a big fan of GW's policy on this. It's their IP, but we're the ones who keep them alive. Ah well, some say it's because of their over-protectiveness that they have been successful.
I think it's actually held them back... but i'm with ya, no stats and we must be aware of posting rules as well. Rules should be referred to page numbers where possible.

I agree with you wholeheartedly... when I look at what Privateer Press has done with their games based on completely opening up their system to be playtested and reviewed by the players... just sending out all that info free of charge and not caring about all this IP protectiveness nonesense... and it just works.... and you end up with a better received and functional product.
with GW, it's just kind of bizarre how they view things.... and how they view / treat their customers....
I just gotta make sure we don't get ourselves in trouble here....

We may not be able to post statlines on here, but you could hyperlink to the GW page for the unit you are referring to as they have the statlines posted on their website for most models nowadays.

I believe that we can talk about rules and rumours... basically if you're going to quote a rule, use quotations and page number reference... I believe that's what you need to do when quoting any material to avoid copyright infringement... (at least from school I seem to remember you're okay so long as you quote your source)...
GW as far as I'm aware do not want statlines and other such material being posted from their army books / codeci - basically anything that would allow someone to play the game without purchasing their material....
although it is an interesting point above, that they actually just post the statlines now for just about everything on their site.... where anyone could just copy them from the website... but irony issues aside, we'll promise to be good here!

By hyperlinking to their site, we're doing GW a favor, we're increasing traffic to the website, even if it is to look for a statline for a specific model.
