What are some of your favorite RPG video games? Im partial to the turn based ones like the old final fantasy but what are some of yours?
The new dragon age was good and so were the knights of the old republic.

FF 12 actually functioned a lot like Dragon Age, where it WAS turn based, but stayed fluid and you could move around.
The new FF 13 is actually terrible and I would really recommend avoiding it.
The Neverwinter Nights series was very good, and I think you can still find the Diamond Edition for very cheap with a couple full expansions.

ahh yeah i have tryed a bunch of the ff's i have found the last few lacking 13 would have been better if you werent stuck with the people they gave you and you could pick who you wanted to be. I thought that was stupid, you like certain people and they stick you with everyone you dont like. why cant they just make a ff7 with better graphics like they keep saying they are going to do but never do.
Never tryed neverwinter nights but have heard good things i probally should

I'll second that witcher was quite cool as well as Vampire....
Elder Scrolls has a lot of people who like it... I had a hard time getting into it actually....
Dungeons and Dragons Online is kind of fun... and free... if you like that sort of thing!

I really enjoyed Elder Scrolls 3, but it was too easy to cheat at from an early, early level. Oblivion is definitely harder, and I guess having to check the map is a nuisance, but it's more realistic, you don't have a compass embedded into your vision in real life, plus you can make your own items!
Aside from that...
Storywise, Warhammer online was an interesting take on the universe, the gameplay just ruined it for a lot of people. The Fable franchise is one of my favorites. I'm definitely more partial to the non-turn based RPG's, and could never get into anything from the FF corner. The only turn based I ever enjoyed was KOTOR and the sequel.
