Night Fight Turn 1
1 Objective in the forest by Jason Depl Zone
1 Objective in the building by Jason Depl Zone
1 Objective in the little building in the corner near Jason Depl Zone
1 Objective in my back corner as far as possible from him
1 Objective in the huge building n my deployment zone
So I tooked pictures of our deployment.Im sorry I don’t know why but my deployment is at the end of the text and I can only put two pictures.
Turn 1
I decided to DS my 10 PB with instruments GUO and reserved from my table 10 PB, 11 PB and 12 Cultist. My flyer is coming as normal flyer. I rolled enfeeble life leech and Iron Arm on my GUO with 4+ FNP and reroll Invul (he pretty much cant die). My warlord Trait is reroll warp Storm Table. I get to go 1st. so I moved my plague Drones behind the big building in from of them. My plan is to get my GUO and my PB coming from the icon there and get maximum cover. My sorcerer will cast warp speed to get fleet and moved towards the forest in cover with his spawn. I rolled Warpstorm and got 8 wich is D6 S6 rending but didn’t do anything. I managed to immobilize his railgun hammerhead with my SG behind the little ruin.
Jason Turn 1
He’s not moving much (I’m surprised ) open fire with most of his stuff behind his aegis and will kill my spawn and sorcerer easily so he now has first blood.
My Turn 2
Roll for my reserved so I start with my instrument PB and rolled a 2. So I still have a change to pull my GUO roll and a nice 1 is coming. Losing 1 turn with my both squad is very painful VS Tau. My cultist come in and go in my back corner objective and my PB are walking to my objective in the big building. My flyers is coming in and I want to flame his firewarrior in the forest but 1st I have to survive his riptide interceptor. He did two pen in my back I hope to save 1 to survived but I don’t so I just blow up and kill 2 fire warrior and 2 pathfinder. I decided to let my Plague Drones behind the building since now they have no back up. Warpstorm is 8 again. Once again doing nothing. My havocs will strip 2 hull points from his devilfish. At this point I’m like OMG Tau will table me in like 4 turns… nothing is going well for me…
Jason Turn 2
He’s not moving much again. Both devilfish will fired my plague drones for 2 wounds. He’s trying to fire with fire warrior in the building but my 2up cover will be good enough. Ion hammerhead will fire in my havoc killing 4 of them. He’s firing my Soul Grinder but my 2up cover is good enough against his railgun.
Myturn 3
This time my GUO and PB are coming from the icon. Im by the table edge on the side of that big building. My plague drones will move in charge range for his 1 hull point devilfish and full hull point devilfish. My havocs will finish off the 1 hull point so now I can multi-charge to protect my plague drone (I want to stay in combat that turn). My SG will kill a couple fire warrior in the building. My PB are now in the building to claim the objective so we both have two objectives. Warpstorm is 7 this time so nothing.
My plan worked for my plague drone putting 2 hull points on the devil fish and killing no fire warrior so that’s good for me.
Jason turn 3
He moved one of his Riptide to my deployment zone ASAP. Other Riptide he’s moving towards the plague drone to help in combat. Most of his stuff will fired my GUO doing 3 wounds. Now its time for me to finish off the fire warrior. I killed 5 of them so I’m pretty confident they gonna flee with LD3 well guess what he rolls a 3! So now I’m still in combat with him.
My turn 4
My GUO is moving slowly with his PB to the building where one objective is. My plan is to go contest that one and having both behind in my zone so I will be good. Warpstrom is 10 so I get +1 Invul this turn yay! This time I have to find a way to stay in combat with firewarrior or I will get shot to dead so my Champion challenge and killed the firewarrior Sgt easily but I win combat only by 1 because my other plague drone do nothing in CC (first time Im happy to roll like crap)… They will stay in Combat. My Havoc will finish off the devilfish in the middle where the little ruin is.
Jason turn 4
Hes moving his riptide close to my SG near the little ruin in my depl zone but still far for a charge. Hes other riptide is very close to the plague drone but needs a 6 to charge in difficult terrain and wont make it. Most of his fire will still try to finish off my GUO but with my 4 Invul and 4 FNP and T10 its very hard. He will only take a wound. My plague drone will finish off the firewarrior (finally).
My turn 5
My Plague Drone will move in the building but in a position so they can multicharge the fire warrior in the ruin (middle table) aswell. My GUO will move towards the riptide and hes T9 this turn. He needs a 5 to charge in terrain and he will failed. At less he gets 1 W back from life leach. My SG is 6 away is riptide to charge in terrain and will failed to. My plague drone will kill all firewarrior and contest objective so Im in very good position and confident but with my SG missing his charge thing will change.
Jason turn 5
His riptide in my zone will use his special move to go super fast (4D6) to contest my objective in my building. That’s a nice move from Jason. Now he has linebreaker and contest my objective (Damn SG that miss his charge) if the games end hes winning with that move. His other riptide will charge my GUO and will take 3W but stay in combat. So he rolls and we have 1 more turn so I’m happy because Im confident to kill his riptide with my SG and 10 PB charging. He will kill my cultist far in the back with his 60 inches range ion cannon and his riptide no cover save (never trust cultist to old an objective damn cultist) but I have some PB in back up to claim that objective again

I finish off the riptide in combat with my GUO and roll my sweaping but only a 2 so Im like 7 away the objective in the building with my PB. My Havocs will finish off the fire warrior in the forest so he has only 1 squad left by the quad gun. I will shoot at it with my SG and they will flee so Im in very good position for the victory. I have one objectives and Im hoping to kill the riptide to get the second. My SG charge and his riptide will hits once to one shoot my SG (big failed) my PB will do 2W but not enough. Im still 1 objective ahead.
Jason Turn 6
He will pass his LD and his last squad of firewarrior will claim the objectives in the forest. This time no extra turn so he won with First blood!
Good game very close. I did some mistake but was my 1st game against new Tau. I should have played my spawn on the side like my Plague Drone. Also having my drone stuck in combat and my GUO not coming really hurt me. Jason did a nice move with his riptide in my zone and both my SG failed to stop him.
