How do they work!?
Considering ordering some rare earth magnets off Amazon to FINALLY magnetize a bunch of my stuff. Specifically I'm starting to get organized for my Lizardmen and figure it would be good to magnetize the bases right off the bat. Here are some questions: what size magnets do I need for magnetizing bases? Would 3mm x 1mm be good enough using a thin metal sheet for the movement tray? Can I just get some sheet metal from Home Depot and get it cut there?
Thanks guys!

magic? Nexus actually carries rare earth magnets now, in nice convenient sizes for magnetizing miniatures. You can use the smaller sizes (they carry about three different ones) for magnetizing different weapon options if you choose (for lizardmen this may not be necessary at all other than maybe some big dino options perhaps). The medium sizes are good for bases to tray magnetizing, and I normally use a metal sheet adhered to a wooden tray (the sheet on it's own can get pretty sharp). You can get a flat sheet used for duct work from Home Depot for under $5 which will give you enough to do movement trays for several armies

Anyone doing Shannon’s movement trays (including you Shannon) that wants the sharp edges taken off I can do that easily at home on my table vice & bench grinder if you cut the sheets to the desired size first.

Does anyone know the price and quantity of the magnets sold by nexus? I have about 200 rats and 100 elves that I want to magnetize and don't want to spend too much money on them.

I think they sell in packs of either 50 or 100 depending on size... they're not too pricey from what I remember
...plus no shipping costs and no waiting!
