So got the new battletome today and man is it good... I've only scratched the surface, but thus far some highlights:
- all units in melee are hitting on THREE'S instead of FOUR'S... this is huge...
- all units also get a bite attack (cool... not super powerful by any means, but cool)
- if units are outside of 3" they are hungry and get +2 to movement. If they're within 3" they're eating and get +2 bravery
- 1 ogor counts as 2 models for controlling objectives - monsters count as 10!
- beastclaw, maneaters and firebellies are all part of the main book.
- beastclaw get priests!
- beastclaw have a chance at causing mortal wounds (a pretty good chance) if they're within 3" of an enemy in the hero phase
- tribe rules to customize your army - very similar to the daughters of khaine style
- command traits and artefacts (finally!)
- multiple spell lores!
most of the units themselves and their points stayed relatively the same with a few tweaks (big names, cauldron, etc.) - the tyrant only has a couple attacks now though... weird.
Leadbelchers can be in units of 2 now for some weird reason (maybe because the box makes four?) while Ironguts are a minimum of 4 models now.
Gorgers now burrow up 9" away instead of 12"
The ironblaster can make a multiple shot attack instead of the one shot cannonball.... it still largely sucks but I'm going to try running them with the underguts mawtribe (command ability adds an attack to nearby ranged units and the leadbelchers go to 18" range!) as I think there's a build in there that could work.
