Right, i've been working on my Forest Goblin list (and models) for most of today. I've left myself 500 points to play around with a Goblin Great Shaman on an Arachnarok. I was thinking:
Goblin Great Shaman: Arachnarok, The other Trichster's Shard, Talisman of Protection - 490
The plan is to run it up my flank along with a 10 man strong Spider unit (The other flank is covered by 20 Spider Riders and the other Arachnarok). The Shaman casts spells (namely the debuff ones) and when he gets into combat he issues a challenge a model in a challenge uses his own attacks, his mounts and any crew with him, meaning some poor sod is going to be on the receiving end of a fair few attacks.
I've also got 140ish points going spare, I was thinking of using a small block of Goblins to protect my Shaman but then my list will lack any real punch. I could go for a unit of Trolls or Spear Chukkas.

really feel that O&G's best tactic now is "Surprise".
We can have so many variety of army that opponent must keep on guessing what will we do next. Here are some possibilities:
1. Elite Death-Star: Horde of Savage Orc Big Un, Black Orcs, Trolls 2. Monstrous Army: Wyvern, Gigantic Spider, Giant, Arachnarok 3. Chariot Army: Gobo/Orc Chariots, NG Boss on Squig, Mangler Squig, Pump Wagon 4. Hordes: Goblins, NG, Squig Herds, Tons of cheap bosses 5. Magic Heavy: Shaman on Arachnarok, tons of NG shamans
Too bad they moved Rock Lobba to Rare, or I would have list an Orc Gunline Army!!
Of course you might need a balance army to play in a tournament. However, I think surprise will be a very strong tactic here as we can pretty much min/max whatever we want. We also have one of the most unit choices in the game!!

Hey Pro. An interesting theme with the Forest Goblins. I’m not sure whether or not it will be all that competitive given the low leadership value of the goblins. Might be a fun army to try though just to see if you can keep things from running off the board. J
I’ve tried the Great Shaman on the Arachnarok and it’s not something I would recommend given that he is vulnerable. Losing your Level 4 wizard might be okay for your magic phase but not for when you are counting on his +4 to dispel.
Also, regarding the ‘Other’s Trickster’s Shard”; I’ve not seen if it been FAQ’d as yet but as it states that ‘all models in base contact must re-roll successful ward saves’ this would include your own units, therefore it’s worth is questionable.
Again I’m not sure what you are referring to as a ‘surprise’ tactic. O&G strength is in their numbers and the generals’ ability to manoeuvre units to obtain the combats you want and get combo charges in order to win through CR. Uber characters or units don’t exist in the O&G army, just lots and lots of ‘cannon fodder’ with some decent fighting units.
O&G’s are a fun army to build and play given the vast number and diversity of unit types to chose from. Some will work and others won’t. Either way it’ll be time to let ‘da boyz Waauughh!!!’

Some will prefer to have the Big Waugh in order to be certain to have the movement spell, which is very handy while others like the nastiness of the little waugh.

ya for a list i would feild to win would be all hoards like
general - orc warboss bsb - orc big boss core- 50 savage orc horde 10x5 or orc boyz with hand and sheild 2 x 100 ng hordes spear and shield 1 horde of trolls 16 somthing like that but the 2 blocks of 100 ng are a must in any O&G army i think bigger = better
