Just watching a DW game where they are forgetting half the stuff. They are going to be really good. Like, top tier SM good.
SW sadly (or not) aren't going to be as good. But hey, at least they're still Space Marines so they are better than everything else not SM by default.

I get the feeling wolves are gunna be fairly decent actually, anyone I've seen saying they aren't very good are people taking their 8th ed lists with Blender Ragnar and substituting Thunderwolves for Wulfen and calling the list updated. (or other equally stupid "expert opinions")
I had the pleasure of watching the Table Top Titans game over weekend with Wolves v Harlies and had it not been for Brian failing THREE of four 5-7" charges on his drop turn on T2, he would have blendered the bikes and killed upwards of ~800 points of Harlies in a single fight phase thanks to double-fights-last debuffs.
The loss of Touch Of The Wild is really just the canary on a big playstyle shift for the poochies. Wolves won't be about spamming characters who butcher entire units anymore, and adopt a bit more balanced approach with units and characters working together imo.

tabletop titans deathwatch game makes me not want to face deathwatch as a xenos player... they're going to be extremely strong!

-1 RP after you shoot the unit to see if it’s worth while.... what’s wrong with that. That’s so strong. Curious to find out what the other Xenos starts are. I’m still watching Tabletop Titans Necrons vs Deathguard..

Well I’ll remove them...

They had that strat in their old book and some of their older starts were just better. The eldar one was if a unit finished their move within 12" they could shoot at -1 to hit. the old ork one was for everyone model killed they got a -1 so could be an impossible charge. Most of these were dialed back but their other strats, warlord traits, relics and having their own psychic discipline makes a huge difference.

Ya deathwatch is interesting in the sense that it creates cool match ups in its rule set. I am happy some got toned down as I prefer when fluff doesnt create massive miss matches in the game play.
