they are not usable
GW put out with the FAQ the free index pdf's that replace the supplements while bridging the gap to the new books.

GW really needs to make their rules free and have one app/wiki where it is all kept up to date and people don't need to deal with tracking down what is actually going on with the rules/books.... But, hey, revenue... (Not like they don't make enough off their minis, paints and the rest of their crap)

they are not usable GW put out with the FAQ the free index pdf's that replace the supplements while bridging the gap to the new books. Minor quibble on that one They put out indexes to replace the former seperate codexes They only put out erratta for the Codex Supplements (WS, IH, UM, RG, etc) So Iron Father Ferrios, the Technomancy Discipline, super doctrines, etc all still exist for the Iron Hands (for example) The following is from the IH Codex Supplement errata CODEX SPACE MARINES – SUPPLEMENT UPDATES With the release of the 2020 edition of Codex: Space Marines, it is necessary to update the Codex supplements that were written to work alongside its predecessor. These updates ensure that the rules presented in this supplement work smoothly and ‘as intended’ with the latest Codex. They involve such things as adding the Core keyword in the appropriate places and attaching appropriate labels and categories to psychic powers and Stratagems. They also include updating certain weapon profiles to match changes in Codex: Space Marines, and readjusting certain other rules to take into account their altered efficacy when used in conjunction with the new units and rules presented in Codex: Space Marines.

yes you're absolutely right... I was completely incorrect on this one
so the supplements are still legal... the separate codexes are not.

I was looking around to buy the digital-only version of the codex, and apparently you just can't. =(
To get a digital copy in the 40k app you _must_ get a code from a physical book atm.

Yep, they did announce that will be the case for all codexes going forward.
