I'm trying to figure out some things with club champs this year... is our TENTH club champs so really wanted to do something special but you know... zombie apocalypse and all that
Working out some options with Mike. So my question is simple - are you planning to attend club champs or not?
(you're obviously not tied to this choice, I'm honestly just trying to get an idea of potential numbers as it will factor into what options we have to work with)
So yes, no or undecided... super easy, barely an inconvenience.
If the date matters we're looking at the weekend of February 20/21st if it is to be one weekend this year.

I've been painting and converting all year. I'll be there even if I have to machette my way through a few hordes.

I'd want to try to make this one if possible - it would be far easier for me to make it down from TO if it was the weekend after, so putting it down for 50/50 right now.

So I'm saying yes because I always try to be there. And 10 years, what can you say to that? Planning to be sufficiently recovered for this so taking a positive slant on it.

No go for me. The second one arrives sometime earlier that month, so there's no way I'd get away for an entire weekend with a 2 week old at home.

What exactly is Club Champs? is it a tournament? Yeah, it's the yearly tournament that's very competitive in nature in all aspects of the game from list construction to modelling/painting. It's typically where people bring out their hardest lists and most amazingly painted pieces.

Hmmmm maybe by next year I will have a 2000pt army that's "competitive". At this point I just got some random dudes slapped together. And nothing that's painted that I'm happy with.

To be perfectly honest, about 30% of the attendees bring a "hard" list, and the rest tend to bring their regular Saturday lists because that's what they own but yes, there are a number of people that go all out with the painting etc. which is great.. but just as many show up with just a standard painted army or three colours on it. It's mainly a full weekend of 40k, 6 games, the best prize pool of the year, tshirts, trophies and a lot of fun it's our biggest tourney of the year, but this year we of course have to modify with Covid and scale things down alot, hence the poll.

For me it all comes down to the status in Kingston for COVID. If it is GREEN and in single digits I Will go. If it's anything else, not likely.

While much can change between now and then, I am certainly interested. It’s a great weekend!
