wow great video, the part about competitors you can see in just the evolution of this site, it when from warhammer, 40k and other to warhammer,40k and warmahordes in just its year of running, with people looking at malifaux not also. Hope GW does get a hold of this and it makes them rethink but i can only assume they have heard of lot of this before from others but if it becomes viral and all over the internet it might make them take notice

The first point I found extremely interesting is that he is standing in front of the Privateer Press wall in their store. Product placement for the competition or subtle reminder to GW that there are other games out there I think he really did a very professional presentation with this video and addressed the issues that needed to be addressed. One part I think he might have glossed over though in the aspect of competition is that there are companies out there that are starting to produce decent and cheaper minis that I know people are using as GW substitutes; ie. Mantic with their Kings of War. I know of several gamers, a few of which are local, who are buying the Mantic miniatures and substituting them to create GW armies. Sure the use of these models wouldn't fly at an "official" GW tournament, but if all you do is play locally and play for fun that won't be an issue. With the announcement of Mantic now looking at the creation of a science fiction line, how soon till we see those miniatures being substituted for Space Marines; or Tyrannids; or Guard. Now if these replacement products become available through local retailers (which I believe Mantic products can be purchased through J&B's - not sure what's available to you KTowners) then local retailers can still be selling product but GW won't be. Some gamers, myself included, are limited by their pocket books (which is why I have been putting more of my dollars into Warmachine). As always, the online market is something to consider and I know that cheaper prices are still out there through that medium, but please do always remember to support your local gaming store or else we'll all have no where to play.

also he couldn't stand in front of the GW stuff.... they'd give him trouble again about using their images without consent!
Both the high elf and undead lines are at Nexus....

An excellent video with well reasoned arguments about problems with GW's business practices regarding the topics he was discussing. I wonder if MWG has also put out any similar videos/letters regarding the products themselves such as the rules and the codexex (codices).
Matt points out that because of the issues he mentions, some gamers are losing their loyalty to the company and I would agree, however, I have lost much of my loyalty to GW for other reasons. It is how GW treats their customers not only with the price of their products or how they can buy them.
I come back to the tyranid codex release because it is a perfect example to me of what is wrong. Other dexes and army books have had problems to be sure. The nid dex is such a poor product with so many issues surrounding the treatment of gamers that already had nid armies in the changes made, the numerous poorly written or senseless rules, loss of so many options when the kit parts were actually available, the lack of model kits for so many units in the dex (some that are very important for competitive lists), the FAQ that answered some questions (many of which would not have needed to be answered if proper editing of the book had been done) while nerfing nids (for no real reason) at the same time, the delays of the FAQ release and second wave kits, and the lack of GW taking any responsibility towards supplying their customers with a good product for all the money customers spend and therefore correcting such a poor product (not talking about perfection as mistakes happen and there are always different viewpoints of the direction of new codexes).
It is because of the above that GW does not warrant any loyalty. The other issues are just icing on the cake that they baked.

i have been buying GW products or making scratchbuilts for years, and have ammased 3 large 40k armies, and a moderatly sized dwarf army, with the costs being my bigest point and now having my daughter saying she wants to get her own mini's to paint, i have been seriosly looking at buying other companies models. . i realy hope GW will figure a way to resolve the issures he talks about in the vid, especaly the prices, with my daughter wants to start playing and i'm sure in a few years, both my boys will want to play (much to my wifes dismay i'm sure) the prices are getting way to high when i can go and get other companies models for alot cheaper i am sofar still a loyal to GW
we shall see what the future brings
