Just curious really. It uses the same models as regular 40K, just on a smaller scale. I'm sort of hoping it'll get updated for 9th edition. Then again, as far as I could tell, there wasn't really any local interest in it beyond me, hahaha. Or if there was, it was kept under wraps.

I did for a bit before I moved to kingston. Was fun, but my chaos marines were pretty terrible in a lot of missions. Part of that may have had to do with the chaos boon table. Spend a command point to roll before the game starts to see if your awesome specialist is empowered. On a 1 he just dies. I rolled a 1 three games in a row....
I never got around to building the pathfinders to play a tau team before I moved. There actually isn't a need to update it around 9th though, as it has it's own standalone ruleset. If you found a copy of the rules I'd be up for some games at some point beyond the immediate future.

I actually have a PDF of the Kill Team rules, as well as PDFs for the Commander and the Elite supplement rulebooks. I could try to email them to you if you would message me your email.
I don't have any physical copies though.

I have the book for the core rules. Didn't pick up commander and I wasn't playing by the time elites released. I get that gw always has to add more rules, but I kinda felt like adding in bigger stuff was a bit weird. Could be fun to expand if we get to start playing regularly though.

I personally am quite fond of kill team, I think i picked up 2 teams from you before Alex. I've only played it 3 or 4 times but I enjoy it quite a bit! It's just why play kill team when the people I play kill team with could play a full game of warhammer As far as I know from what i've read online, commanders isn't viewed as competitive (more for narrative and fun games) but elites is considered part of core.

I've thought it was pretty interesting as I don't intend to build a full 40k army but do like the minis and painting.
Seems like there are a ton of tactics and strategems though, some tournament formats only allow the ones from the core book.
This seems like a good idea to me. Also it seems like a good platform for narrative games.

That's my thinking, allows me to field a lot of variety to play with people that don't necessarily want to play 40k, and I can have a full force of dudes for significantly cheaper,
I think the updated book has all the strategems and tactics which is neat, and wholeheartedly agree with you on the narrative games, you can get XP for your guys to make them better and stuff like that.

For a while Inq28 was a popular game until Necromunda came out.
Back in the late 90's, GW came out with a game called Inquisitor, which had really huge scale models (like daemon primarch size) and an amazing set of rules for making custom pieces to an Inquisitorial warband.
Sadly, the scale of the minis proved to be its undoing, but the rule set lived on for a long time with custom done 40k minis and terrain instead of the large ones.
Then Tor Meggidio (sp?) came out, and had more narrative based games.
This was a bit of a ramble, but if you're making stuff for Necromunda, then maybe see if you can find a copy of the Inquisitor rulebook.
