I love it.
The factions that have been confirmed for launch are armies for all 4 Chaos gods, Kislev, and... Cathay? Really? Cathay has barely any lore, with all official lore on it being able to fit in about 2 or 3 paragraphs. Then again, that whole section of the Warhammer world barely has any lore.
Rumours flying around suggest that they are only including it to appeal to a Chinese market based on how well Three Kingdoms sold. The fact that the official announcement FAQ post is in both English and Chinese, with no other languages present seems to suggest this is the case as well. Would make sense from a business standpoint, as the Chinese market is huge.
Personally I don't care as much as this post may make it seem. I'm just annoyed that they picked a faction with almost no lore to be in at launch, while major factions that had actual models that still aren't in, such as Ogre Kingdoms and Chaos Dwarves, won't be in at launch.

I'm not wholly surprised that cathay is included. Creative Assembly likely looks forward to stretching their own creative legs with a faction, rather than simply transfering the GW ideas into a digital format. If it's anywhere near as cool as Vampire Coast, I will not be disappointed.
I have no doubt they are going to add Ogres and Spikey Dwarfs. Like tomb kings, people will be chomping at the bit to buy those DLCs.
I've been a fan of total war for much longer than I've been playing warhammer. Been looking forward to this announcement for a while now. But still so many campaigns left to play in the second game..
