Because the team responsible for all of the other failed boxed games knows how to suck a golfball through a garden hose?

It's called a Gateway Drug guys =) Gotta get them kiddies into plastic crack. In addition to this, I've heard that they don't actually sell these in hobby/game stores. They sell them in places like Barnes and Nobles down in the states. That way a person that may never enter a game store sees it, gets interested and buys it. The hope being that from there they go on to buy actual kits. And if they don't, then GW still at least made a sale to a person that would normally never actually buy a GW product.

I would say these are definitely Barnes & Noble, U.S. toy/department store games. We don't usually see this kind of release here. Quick, easy games with promo inserts inside in the hopes the owner will hit the website or local game store to funnel more $ in to the corporate wallet. I don't think any of these releases have ever been big sellers for the chains who have carried them. Though they must generate enough sales for them to keep trying when GW is not hurting for cash these days.

Not sure about these games, but I did hear that BlitzBowl was actually quite the popular seller where it was available. But then again its got kind of a great formula/charm that little space hulk lite boxes are lacking
