Full disclosure, I won't be in the Great Crusade tournament. I only have 5 Chaos Terminators assembled, and no codex or rulebook. This is just for future reference on my part. Ok, so to my understanding, the Great Crusade tournament requires players to have a named character as their warlord. I saw this however: www.games-workshop.com/en-CA/Chaos-Space-Marines-Vex-Machinator-2019Vex Machinator, Arch-Lord Discordant. He is a Chaos Space Marines HQ unit. However, in the codex, he is not a named character, despite being named on the box. I was wondering if he would be eligible as a Warlord in the tournament anyway, as he is technically a named character, sort of. Mostly I'm asking as so far I am interested in Alpha Legion, and they don't have any named characters, so I wouldn't be able to join the tournament anyway. My apologies for this being a stupid question. I figure the answer is very likely "No, he can't be used", but there is no harm in asking. |

Unfortunately, "Vex Machinator" is not a special character as represented in the rules. So, unfortunately, the answer is "no, he can't be used".
However: there is actually an Alpha Legion special character, in the Forgeworld book. His name is Lord Arkos. He's actually decent, too!

I'm assuming that the only way to go get this Forge World book, is from Forge World itself? I have the book if you wanted me to send you pic of an entry if you are unable to get the book in time |

Also, I don't think I'd be able to get my hands on the model. I think Forge World must have dropped the model, as I can't find it on their site. As such, it would be expensive as hell to get, assuming I could even find it. |
