hmmm they kept him as a daemon prince, despite the enormous model... which fits the fluff, just weird for the size.
4++ invul is great (although it appears he lost his reroll saves ability) and -1 to hit is fine... the -1 to wound vs. ranged is quite nice. (I've used this on a keeper with an exalted trait a bunch). So most ranged weaponry will be at best wounding on 4's (assuming he stays T6 as a prince - but really T7 isn't going to change much with the -1 to wound)
His sword has improved significantly, and having his own psychic discipline seems super cool.
The big question is going to be his wounds. They've tagged on some damage mitigation abilities and upped the model size, so I'd assume Belakor is losing his character protection for sure.
He's probably going up to 14 wounds (just less than a greater daemon), 3+/4++ and T7... but that's just a guess on my part. So he'll be decent at that profile, so long as the point cost is under 300 points.

I'm Guessing he will be about 14 wounds as well with T7. If he's lower then that ill be disappointed. I'm expected his official rules for 40k wont be out till the daemon book gets redone and sounds like he's also getting his own lore like he used to have in the past and not just a crappy version of the CSM one.

My worry he's 12 wounds and still breaks daemonic alliances if you include him. But he's a huge centerpiece model so they want to sell him. They've gotten to have figured out by now that cool kit bad rules (thirster) leaves stuff on the shelf while cool model good rules (keeper of secrets) sells kits.

Holy smokes on that durability profile.
-1 to hit, cannot reroll to hit, -1 to wound, and 4++ invul
That's approaching king-of-the-hill Mortarion levels of durability depending on his armour save and toughness.
I suspect this will be similar to Mortarion's reveal in December, meaning the Chaos Daemon's or CSM codex is right around the corner, and likely follows the Drukhari release this week.

Not really at all. He doesn't have a native -1 to all incoming damage, nor does he sport Revoltingly Resilient to further shrug damage that makes it past all the saves and mitigation.

it will make him resistant to small arms fire, which is really nice... and depending on his toughness might extend to autocannons as well... but no where close to a T8, -1 damage, 4++, turn off ALL auras, FNP monster that can heal, give itself miasma, and a bucketload of wounds.
But I'm hopeful... cautiously hopeful...
I'm actually expecting nerfs in the new daemon codex. They've been performing well - on the backs of Keepers and beasts of nurgle and nurglings - there is so much internal balance issues with this codex but the good stuff is really good!

Not saying that he's as-tough-as Morty, Morty is obviously the king by a good margin still. But we're seeing this class of over-10-wound-characters continue to fill out with very nasty tough customers. Dealing with super-characters like this is going to become something all-comers lists have to plan for now.

So that stat line looks an aweful lot like a greater deamon. Is he just a prince in name only?

well he's got the statline of a bloodthirster... but with a 4++ invul, -1 to hit and wound...an better weapon than any of them... so he's way better than any of the greater daemons.
so yeah, prince in name only.

I guess it's good to be the first of something. I'm assuming he is gonna be pretty crazy at casting powers or have a unique spell like he use to. I'm gonna start the bidding at 435 pts for this bad boy.
