I mean, it certainly LOOKS tyranid-like. The smooth remainder of the tail is a bit of an odd duck, but the end surely looks like it belongs to the primordial annihilator's favored sons and daughters.

Oh yeah! I'd forgotten about flyrant tails being smooth. (Same as the Carnifex, zoans, gargoyles, t-fex, harpy, hive crone, etc, etc.)
Okay, so I forgot that LOTS of Nids have smooth tails, lol.

You know what they say about the first step on the road to disappointment. I mean it certainly looks like it, but this wouldn't be the first rumour engine designed to troll tyranid players haha.

Well and to be honest, I haven't actually gotten a new codex without being disappointed at the contents since 4th edition. 4th edition nids were so fun! Every codex since has been more and more problematic. Even the brief six months of 5 flyrant spam lists (before being nerfed HARD) didn't really do much for the REST of the codex. Just some internal and external balance... that's all I want! Marines can still be the best - I don't care! |

Oh yeah, the flyrant spam nerf. They hit that so hard I felt it in my tau codex. Whatever, I didn't want to buy more commanders anyway. I definitely feel you on that internal balance issue.
I guess it's helpful that your expectations are tempered by years of disappointment and neglect, but I really do hope this will actually turn out to be the one everyone has been waiting for. Maybe after that they can get a decent codex? Have to give people a reason to buy those new models right? Not that they seemed inclined to give GSC that sort of treatment...
