So the Relic "Master Crafted Weapon" adds 1 to the damage profile of a weapon.
For a weapon with 2 profiles (like Boltstorm Gauntlet) does it add 1 to the damage of both the shooting and melee profiles? or do you pick one?
I found the answer for 8e, but I havent seen anything for 9th addressing the same question.

If the master crafted stratagem doesn't state melee then I would think the eighth ed ruling would still apply since ninth wasn't a huge reset like eighth was

Not a huge deal anyway. Having an aggressor sgt that hits on 3s with 5/6 attacks at D3 is still cool even

If a single weapon has multiple profiles you pick from during gameplan, and master crafted updates the weapon itself at pre-game, I'd have to agree that all profiles of the same-named weapon are upgraded.
Imagine for example a Plasma weapon with Overcharge. Just cus I pressed the overcharge button I'm no longer master-crafted?
Makes too much sense that all weapons profiles would be upgraded to me for anything else to be the case.
Wow... I can't believe it's FAQed as different weapons... Yeah, so apparently the ENTIRE name of the weapon is considered for master-crafted purposes. So you gotta pick between the flamer/bolter or fist that gets upgraded

So the issue is the ultramarines codex FAQ addresses my exact question (i found it after I posted this)....it uses the plasma pistol as an example and says both the regular and overcharged profile would be upgraded. It then goes on toe specifically mention that something like a boltstorm gauntlet which has two weapons entries (shooting) (melee) are treated as two seperate weapons, and as such you only upgrade 1 of the profiles. Wheras plasma is wreen as -standard and -overcharge under 1 weapons name instead of as sepearte entires
