I have the gw 40k app but cant seem to find how to add brotherhoods for grey knights. Anyone know what I dont lol.

I have the app, but unfortunately not the unlock for the grey knights book (as I do not own grey knights lol) so cannot help.
Given what I know from tyranids though, it may be under two sections - either options (when you click either the checkmark, or the warnings icon) or under the detachments themselves (for nids that is where you select hive fleets)
