It's great they are testing these. There are a few very interesting mechanics at play here. Most appear to be aimed at making lists which are designed to be campy/defensive essentially unplayable or highly risky strategy.
Both missions are designed to force the armies at play to go forward, and holding back puts you at risk of being out-aggroed by your opponent and costing you VP or even CP.
I wouldn't even be surprised if there are changes to To The Last as well they just haven't revealed yet

Having more varied ways to score primary is a solid addition. With the General's Handbook for AOS really showing up chapter approved this year, I really hope they take some ideas from that system (and general book construction tips would certainly help too!) and port them over to 40k.

I really like the idea of having various ways to score primary while still keeping the core about objectives

One leak showed a change to everyone’s favourite Secondary ROD. Now, to recover the data in a table quarter the unit performing the Action must roll under its strength on a D6, subtracting 1 if it is a Troops Unit.
Bye Action Monkeys!
Mission Secondaries are gone, replaced by a second mandatory Primary for each Mission. Also looks like CP regeneration might be tied to certain conditions such as holding Objectives outside your deployment zone.
If nothing else, it will make the GT 2022 GT Mission Pack worth something.

oh wow... ROD will be pretty much dead in the water as a secondary choice. It already has a difficulty built in with having to be in four different quarters and infantry only. if you're batting a 50/50 chance of doing the secondary that you have to do four times in a five round game, it's now a terrible choice. Even for T4 troops you're having a 30% chance of still just outright failing. No thanks... not for 12 points.

Sorry, it is the strength of the unit meaning unit size. So a 10 man squad will always succeed, as would a five man Troops choice. A two man squad, though, would rarely succeed.

Oh, strength as in unit model count? Love that change. Suck it lictors. I'm better at Rod than you now.

Going off leaks, it looks like the roll has to equal or be less than the number of models in the unit, subtracting 1 from the roll if it is a Troops battlefield role. So a five man Tactical Squad will always succeed while a two man Servitor unit will succeed only 1/3 of the time.
I like that they are staying engaged with the scene and trying to curb “gamey” tactics and builds.
The kill three Units a turn Primary will certainly work against MSU armies.

Interesting. A 4 man servitor squad would only have a 66.67% chance of doing an action.
