Inspired by the 12K in 2021 thread, I took stock of my painting on my first day of leave. I painted in some fits and starts, but I feel good about the year - my wife got me a new airbrush for my Birthday and that really changed things.
40K:
Dark Angels (2,650 points):
1 x Primaris Captain 1 x Phobos Captain 1 x Lazarus 4 x Company Veterans 1 x Apothecary 5 x Incursors 3 x Bladeguards 3 x Eradicators 1 x Attack Bike 3 x Eliminators 5 x Assault Intercessors 3 x Outriders 1 x Redemptor 3 x Plasma Inceptors 1 x Deredeo Dreadnought 1 x Land Raider Crusader 10 x Deathwing Terminators
Necrons (695 points):
1 x Nightbringer 10 x Warriors 3 x Skorpech Destroyers 1 x Chronomancer
AOS Chaos (2,090 points) - these had been been in my pile of shame from 2011 (Chaos) and 2018 (Khorne). Mostly painted in a frenzy for the recent tourney will clean-up since then:
1 x Chaos Lord 1 x Khorgus Bloodsecrator Bloodstoker 10 x Bloodletters 3 x Bloodcrushers 24 x Chaos Warriors 5 x Chaos Knights 1 x Kogorath 10 x Blood Warriors 30 x Blood Reavers (did these in the Winter lockdown) Skulltaker Bloodmaster
Necromunda 10 x Escher Models
Bolt Action (2000 points +-) This was the Spring lockdown:
1 x Mk IV 1 x Semovente 20 x Italian Bersagieri 30 x Grenadiers (this was a two week summer leave journey painting along with Duncan Rhodes) 1 x 8 cm mortar 1 x MMG 1 x 88mm
I aim to knock out 5 x Deathwing Knights, 5 x Necron Immortals, 1 x Stormcast character and maybe some Slaves to Darkness before 2022. I am really happy with my airbrush for Dark Angels and laying the basecoats on my Chaos dudes.

Dang! You got a ton of painting in! Thanks! They aren't going to win any painting competition, but they are battle ready! Something I tried this year was "hobby streak." Watching some painting videos on Youtube during the Christmas lockdown I came across this a couple of times (Dana Howl and Goobertown IIRC). The idea is that instead of setting goals in terms of "this week I will paint these models" you simply say "I will do 30 minutes of hobby every day." Living in the quarters during the week in Petawawa with no evening sports or activities made fulfilling a "hobby streak" both easy and also something to add some structure to my evenings. Slowly but surely I was cranking out painted models. Then I started eating into the pile of shame. I still do the "frenzy of painting to be ready for a tournament" as seen for the AOS tourney, but I finished up those models over the past three weeks doing the hobby streak thing.
