Hi all,
As some you you may know, I currently run the Bolt Action tournaments in Nexus, until now I've focused on a 1 day event, but have had an interest in extending it to a 2 day event, so my question for you all is, how well does it work at Nexus? I know the 40k championship runs as 2 days, do you have players from out of town? Etc
Cheers

well I've run consistently two full weekend tournies per year. It works fairly well, however if you rely on out of town participants to fill up the tourney it can be an extra expense (accommodations) that can factor into attendance.

I haven't gone to a lot of out of town events. But hotel room, meals and gas certainly have impacted my decisions when doing so. Not to mention how many hours I may have to commit in travel. Also, as with our 40K tournaments, Shannon has it up for registration for the local community for a period time before he opens it to out of town so locals have a fair shot at participating.

Pre covid I ran a 2 day FOW tournament snd one post covid.
Over 50% of the attendees came from out of town.
40k can fill up a fairly large event with just locals....other games not so much...but the ppl looking for events will come if you make it worthwhile and advertise well in advance
