well I've slowly been building my CSM since the start of 9th. I still haven't even painted any hq units yet. so I'll just tinker away while I wait for this codex to eventually come out, and hopefully what I have built and painted is semi relevant. I'm hoping that berserkers are still in the main csm codex otherwise I might have to start a WE army too lol.

The regular legionnaire probably doesn't have average much combat experience over a loyalist, especially since it's probably inclusive of literal chaff space marines like the Red Corsairs churn out.
The 2A attack seems to be the standard for all marines going forward since they've been slowly filtering away shock assault/hateful assault from all the different marine flavours. eg GKs have 3A base. My expectation is tac marines will also be 2A base when the new book comes out and shock assault will just go away forever (good riddance it was an 8th ed kludge to begin with).

All current MEQ codexes have removed Shock Assault and baked-in an extra Attack at all times. Once Space Marines are brought up to speed, Tactical Marines will be 2A base and Intercessors will likely be 3A base. |
