So without leading edge where are people getting their basing materials & supplies besides Nexus?

Leading edge is still around. Just have to order online and either get it shipped to you or pick it up at Bronson and Bronson.

Maybe I'm not looking in the right spot but they don't seem to have most of the model train stuff I used to use for basing anymore ):

You may be looking at the "wrong" leading edge website. For whatever inscrutable reason, they decided to split their site into 3 different ones. This is the one for models www.tmmodelland.com/Hopefully it has what you need. The pickup experience was very easy BTW. Got a pot of Tamaya panel liner off them about a month ago.

That was where I ended up I can't find a subsection for basing materials and the like, and they don't seem to carry most of the items by name (I remember a lot of woodland scenics products). But my co-worker discovered another local place locomotiveworks.ca that seems to have that sort of stuff in stock - he's ordered some will report back lol

Nexus has been stocking some smaller supplies available for basing and terrain, lately. Currently, there are a series of sets of flocking and basing material available from GaleForceNine that would be enough to get a small army based at a reasonable price. ($25ish for 4 small containers of different materials) For myself, these have been working well as an accessible variety of materials with which to get back in to basing and experimenting with different styles.
For what Leading Edge used to sell, you want to be looking for "Woodland Scenics" and I am sure Mike could get some from one of his distributors, if you asked. (last I spoke with one of the Brothers, the impression I got was that they had no intentions of continuing to service the model rail hobby, once their brick and mortar closed)
