I'm busy tonight, but I'll have a look tomorrow over lunch. Thank you as-well and let me know if you need help with the files

Looks like there's a decent amount of pieces that have been broken up to make them easier to print, which is nice in that it reduces filament requirements, and will generally make it more material efficient; all good things.
For a ruined building corner, 6"x6" at the base, 3 stories high with rough triangular floors, the cost to print is about $12-15. That's covering the cost of materials, consumables, and hydro. That's bare off the bed with no finishing. The files themselves mainly replicate already existing 40k terrain pieces, albeit with less detail.
I do feel there's a case to be made for printing out some smaller terrain features or to augment some home-made terrain pieces, but doing full print of a board would easily run over $100 in printing costs alone.
I know that they're not quite as easy to work with, but the laser cut pop and glue pieces that Nexus has in stock, could some of those be purchased and assembled to suit 9th ed terrain requirements? Conversely, do we get creative again as a community and start knocking out terrain pieces to update the inventory of available pieces?

That's pretty pricey...

That's a lot of dollars for not a lot of terrain. I've been getting into foamboard and pink-foam work and I'm pretty sure I could make at least 4 tables worth of painted terrain for $100, probably a lot more if I was talking pure-material cost.

I agree, while printed terrain is super nice, and has the possibility to be incredibly detailed and all kinds of awesome; the speed isn't there yet to do it cheaply enough on a large scale.
For the ultra dedicated hobbyist that's looking to have a spicy home-board setup, you freakin bet! Outfitting a whole club's worth of tables... not financially feasible unless you have a whole ton of people willing to donate time and hydro to the project.
I do like pink foam quite a bit, I'm also a fan of MDF for terrain making. Both can be bought in large sheets and worked into a wide variety of different pieces. If we did MDF terrain, then added some 3D printed accents to "dress them up", that would likely be the best possible mix, as we'd be maximizing the size while only using the printed pieces to their strengths of adding details quickly.

Cory made some great terrain... I'm very appreciative of what we have at the club for sure!
And we have enough for clubs right now, so there's no worry about that.
I'm just looking ahead to the (hopefully) return of 30-40 player tournies and things can get a little sparse after all the really cool pieces are used up on the first dozen tables lol

So I did a quick slice of the T'au Tower found in the Large Sets. At 3 walls and 10% infill, looks like about 83g of material. There will be some post processing on that as well. That is one of the smaller pieces, and comes out to about $2.50, with about 6¢ of hydro. Plus adding in the inevitable failed prints haha.

One of the awards the Hogtowner gives out is "best table" They leave a couple tables open for players to furnish (the players commit to this before the date) and then players vote on their favorites. A little incentive and bragging rights for bringing out high quality terrain.

I do have some of the BANDU laser cut wood terrain and have enough to donate 2 tables worth with pretty good density, if people don't mind basic grey and brown terrain. I think there is at least 1 big box of the useful BANDU terrain at next, the 89.99 box. I would be willing to build it for the club if we could raise the funds.

We do the same thing at larger Flames of War events Helps crowdsource the terrain burden Award or not if anyone ever asks I can bring a whole table of terrain for 40k pretty easily

A little incentive and bragging rights for bringing out high quality terrain. We used to do that here if you remember... Back when people would bring tables for specific missions as every table had it's own mission short notice for this year, as the trophies I bought for this year are already set,(and arrive Monday) but I'd be certainly willing to add another award to the list for next year if people wanted to have that be part of the competition? Worth some thought to see if people were interested in making tables and everyone votes for the best one?

Player vote works
For FOW we used some non players (the event organizers wives lol) to judge the tables. Their lack of any inherent biases related to the game/hobby made for interesting results

something i don't mind doing is making some terrain with readi-board, I have a bunch of stencils and pattern's all ready plus the readi-board as well I can upload my collection of patterns so that everyone can have a look and see what they might be interested in or if they can give me a design/theme they are looking for I can do that too, if i have time to i can make some stuff before the CC tourney.
Also i like that idea too so that old, broken stuff can be cycled out with newer and fresh stuff and that even for those that don't need to paint before CC can do something leading up to it aswell.

How long would a full table take to print? Think we could get a table printed a week or is that too ambitious? I know these wont be done for clubs of course. But maybe getting one to two tables done per event would be nice.
