www.goonhammer.com/hammer-of-math-objective-scoring-in-nachmund/I thought this would be good to draw attention to for discussion. The findings are similar to what I've seen and felt both watching and playing nachmund so far, the game is firmly won on primary and secondary scoring while similar on the scoresheet is coming from some new places and some old. Apparently we can also confirm that Typhus (and others) are absolutely right that you should pretty much always take Stranglehold because it's straight up the best always available secondary.

Looks like secondary selection is already back to being a solved problem, and they're almost completely irrelevant to winning the game. And honestly imo that's an absolute win. I'm sure others enjoy the idea of nuanced personal objectives but I'm having a lot more fun not even having to know how 90% of the secondaries work and being able to reliably pull wins on mission primary by using the same tiny pool, basically always oaths, stranglehold and something to do with killing guys. Lets me assign extra brainpower to remembering another 10% of my stratagem list

Yeah there's definitely some auto-pilot mode to it for some lists. I am definitely eyeing up Deploy Homers as something I want to test in place of where I was taking ROD and Banners. I feel like Banners will probably still be my go-to as it feels like a pretty easy 10 for my wolves, but I think there's a lot of potential for Deploy Homers + Behind Enemy Lines to be a pretty nasty scoring combo.

Not all lists will do the same secondaries though. Taking just the ones that posted the highest numbers won't work if your army isn't built for it.
ie: my nurgle daemons and my GSC take VERY different secondaries.

Well I think the typical response would that while that is true (I'm not taking Oaths in my Deathguard for obvious reasons, but it's still an autopilot decision) if you aren't built to do stranglehold you probably aren't built to win primary. Which means you aren't built to win the game.
That's how you end up with stranglehold being both the most picked AND most scoring by such a gigantic margin.
